Back in the late 1960s, Herman built a large bookcase for us. We were newlyweds living in an apartment. My husband knew him from church and the Knights of Columbus. Herman was a kind, generous man to us. He built a very nice book case, then he refused to take any payment. That bookcase is in my study now, still as strong and sturdy as the day he built it. I believe everything Herman did, he did with skill and craftsmanship.
