Howard Myers Obituary
Howard R.
Myers Sr.
age 75, of Malvern, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at home. He was born Jan. 12, 1937 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Richard B. Myers and Mary Orr. Howard proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Republic Steel of Canton for 26 years. Howard loved to tinker with cars and listen to country music. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda L. Myers; son, Bruce A. Myers; and dog, Trixie; brothers, Charles L. Myers, Richard G. Myers, Harold Lee Myers, John L. Myers, Gary K, Myers and Richie Myers; sisters, Virginia R. Rostaewaite, Bertha (June) Kelly and Lilian L. Bannon.
Howard is survived by his sons, Howard Jr. (Diane) of Malvern, Ronald (Flo) Myers of Canton; daughters, Tina (Jeff) Byers of New Philadelphia and Lori Griffin of Malvern; grandchildren, Christy, Heather, Howard III, Timothy, Monica, Jennifer, Jeffrey Dorothea, Kaleb, Dustin, Buddy, Calvin and Clinton; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Myers, Ricky Myers and James D. Myers; sisters, Helen Hoobler, Mary Steitz, Anna J. (Jack) Beller and Mildred F. (Gary) Bowdle; and a host of special sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Friday, March 23 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with burial and graveside services follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Simmons Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr. #E., Green, OH 44685.
