James Ferguson Obituary

JAMES PATRICK FERGUSON, age 82, born November 25, 1920 in Palestine, Texas died Thursday, February 13, 2003. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, was a graduate of Texas A&M class of 1943 and University of Texas Law School, class of 1950. Mr. Ferguson was an attorney with Exxon Corporation for 33 years (Landowner Relations), member of Exxon Annuitants Club and longtime member and usher with First Presbyterian Church of Houston. He was preceded in death by wife Mary Elizabeth Ferguson and brothers Jack C. Ferguson and J.H. Reagan Ferguson, Jr. Mr. Ferguson is survived by son James P. Ferguson, Jr.; daughter Ment Ferguson Turbiville; grandsons Charles Fletcher Turbiville II and Patrick Ferguson Turbiville; sister-in-laws Mrs. Reagan (Evelyn) Ferguson, Jr. and Mrs. Bascom W. (Kelly) Bentley; five nieces and nephews, and their families. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church of Houston, 5300 Main Street with Dr. John Wm. Lancaster officiating. Interment will be held at East Hill Cemetery in Palestine, Texas at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services, 4407 Bee Cave Road, Suite 520, Austin, Texas 78746-6496 (512-476-1234) or a charity of choice.
