Roy was a special person who affected everyone he touched in such positive ways. I always enjoyed his great stories whether they were about politics or SWC football. He led an incredibly interesting life and was generous enough to share his experiences with many people. Thanks Roy for those "birthday posters". They made my day as well as Dr.'s and I will never forget them because they will always remind me of your keen wit and interest in the "other fella". May God let you fly on the wings of eagles.
Goodbye Roy

My thoughts and prayers are with you Mary Ann as well as with the rest of the family. Roy was always so kind and truly cared about us and about Bill's progress with his battle against cancer. They are both pain free and enjoying each others company in heaven now.

I am writing this on behalf of my father Dick Forester who valued Roy as one of his closest friends. I had the pleasure of spending lots of time with Roy and his friends at Luby's (THE CLUB) and enjoying his wit and overwhelming friendliness toward all people. He will be missed by all who knew him amd the brief time I spent with him I will always remember his kindness toward my father and their great friendship together. Julie I hope you are doing well and hope your golf game is as good as always. I am sure dad and Roy are having a great time in heaven as we speak.

It isn't what people think and feel about you that matters -- it's what people think and feel about themselves when they are with you that counts. J. Roy, you always made me feel that I had a seat at the head table, alongside of you. I'll miss you Roy, and your endearing sense of humor, sincere friendship and sage advice. What a memorable legacy you have left behind -- for now --and shall live on through Sarah, Ellen, Doris and Harold. God bless you Mary Anne, for the comfort and joyful companionship you have provided to my friend these past many years. He loved you so very much.
