JAMIE MORROW Obituary

JAMIE RICHARD MORROW Oct. 1, 1927 - Aug. 17, 2010Born JAMES RICHARD MORROW III to JR Morrow and Susan Jewell (Trent) on his grandparents' farm in Western Oklahoma territory. Jamie graduated from Chickasha High School where he played trumpet and drums in the marching band. At age 16 he went to Oklahoma State University where he obtained adegree in Chemical Engineering. Jamie went on to participate in theTokyo operations during the U.S. occupation of Japan and was stationed just a few blocks from General MacArthur's headquarters for a little overa year. When Jamie returned home he met Kathryn Williams at church. Theymarried on February 15, 1951. Through Jamie's 36 years of service to Amoco Production Company he held numerous Engineering assignments in West Texas, Alberta, NW Territory, Yukon Territory, Tulsa, Chicago and Houston.He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, "Papa", and a faithful church leader and servant of the Lord. He was always enjoyable to be around and his strong work-ethic was admired by many. For the last several months Jamie received thoughtful attention from care-givers Dora Zunega and Laura Salgado. They quickly became good friends and he would eagerly await their daily visits. He is survived by brother Tunis Morrow (and wife Hazel); sister Sue Finley (Morrow); brothers-in-law Thomas Matlock, James Williams, and Larry Williams; sister-in-law Barbara Taylor; his children Larry Morrow and Ellen Young (Morrow); son-in-law Brett Young; grandchildren Micah, Zak, Elisabeth, James Benjamin and Anna Young; and great-grandchild William Young. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister Edris Matlock (Morrow), brother-in-law Olan Finley, and great-niece Sarah Edris Finley. A service to memorialize Jamie's life will be held in the Chapel of Bammel Church of Christ on August 20, 2010 at 10 am.Jamie will be laid to rest in Klein Memorial Park, Pinehurst, Texas next to his wife Kathryn.
