Jane Crouch Obituary

JANE CROUCH was born August 25, 1930 in Marshall, Texas. One of the nine children of John Pierce Everett, Sr. and Omie Hudson Everett, she moved to Houston in her early twenties where she met and married William Crouch, Sr. She worked the majority of her life as a sales consultant for Sakowitz, Lord & Taylor, and Neiman Marcus. Jane is survived by her son, William Crouch, Jr., her granddaughter Kendall Crouch, her sister Ann Stockman and her dearest and closest friend, Eleanor "Ellie" Hitt. A petite lady with a huge heart, Jane was always giving of herself and enriched the lives of those she touched. She simply adored her family, especially her granddaughter Kendall (who affectionately named her "MIMI") Some of Jane's greatest pleasures included getting homemade cookies and cakes made and delivered by Kendall, going to lunch and shopping with "Ellie" and feeding the little birds which gathered outside her home. Independent and a "fighter" to the end, Jane went to be with her Lord Sunday morning, May 3, 2009. The family will receive friends from 3pm until 6pm Thursday, May 7th at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Jane will then return to her childhood roots of East Texas and be laid to rest at Crossroads Cemetery near the town of Elysian Fields. For those wishing to do so, flowers or a gift to M.D. Anderson Cancer Institute would honor her.
