Jane Murray Obituary

Murray
Jane F. Murray
On Mother's Day, Sunday May 8, 2011, we lost our beloved mother Jane F. Murray. After her long three year struggle with complications caused by a stroke, God lovingly brought her home to rest. She was only 74. She was born Jane Francis Ullmann on November 12, 1936 in Floresville, Texas, raised in San Antonio and eventually settled in Spring Texas. She graduated from Harlandale High School as a National Honor Society student in 1955.
She was a beautiful, generous, loving, compassionate, multi-talented, endlessly creative woman who held many roles in life such as daughter, sister, wife, aunt, friend, grandmother and great-grandmother, but to her children, the role she played best was Mom. She is reunited in Heaven with her parents Otto F. Ullmann and Francis Kolenda Ullmann and her brother Wallace "Gator" Ullmann.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Murray, sisters Shirley Robinson, Doris McGowan, brother Rodney Ullmann, her sons Darryl Downs, Mark Downs, Greg Downs, daughter Dolly Crockett, eight grand children, two great-grandchildren, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and her cat Mitzi.
Visitation and Rosary will begin Friday, May 13, 5pm at Franklin Funeral Home, 914 Third Street, Floresville, TX 78114.
Mass will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011, 10am at The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville TX with burial to follow.

Mom, I can't believe it has been 9 years since we said goodbye. So much has happened since, but one thing has not changed a bit...I still miss you so, so much. I can't think about you or talk about you without tears or the deep, dark sadness and emptiness I feel without you here. I don't like that because I want to have happy thoughts and memories of you but I just can't seem to get beyond the darkness. Several loved ones have joined you in Heaven since you departed. I miss them as well. Give them our love. On the brighter side, we have been blessed with new additions to the family! They are your great-grandsons, Jace and Kason and your great-granddaughters Kinslee and Lily! You would be so proud of your grands and great-grands! Ashley got married so you have another grandson, Adam! They are a beautiful couple and someday there will be little ginger haired greats running around! I miss you mom. Happy Mother's Day. I'll be seeing you.

Well, Erica and I made the trip to visit your grave and finally ordered your memorial stone. I am sorry it took me a year to do it but I feel much better now that it is done. We will come visit again when the stone is in place. It will probably be around your birthday when I get there but I will be back. I'll be seeing you Mom. I miss you.

Love always, Dolly

Dear Sister Jane, Today makes one year since you left us. I know your children especially miss you on this Mothers Day. Think of you often- your little giggle and big dimples, and wish we had spent more days together, but both of us were so busy with our families and lived so far apart. Still think of you and remember you in my prayers. Love you, Shirley

Mom, it has been a long year since I last saw you but in my heart I see you everyday. I miss you so much but I feel that you are near in spirit so it takes away some of the pain. Today will be a tough day to get thru but it will be ok because I know that someday we will all be together again. Until then, I love you.

Mom, it is hard to believe it has been two months ago that you breathed your final breath. I was there holding your hand and whispering to you not to worry, that we would be ok. I am so glad that you were able to visit with Greg, Darryl, Ginger, Robert and Erica before you left. I wish you could have visited with Tom and Mark that day but it just was not possible. Tom was able to call the next morning but it was too late. Know that he loves you very much and I'm sure he thinks of you every day, I know I do. I miss you tremendously but I am glad you are free. Mitzy still wanders around the house looking for you.

Missing you,
Love Dolly

Dear Sister Jane, It's been a little over a month since you left us. You still cross my mind as I go about my day, remembering special happenings we shared, the special celebrations, Christmas and Thanksgiving Days or just walking to school. Remembering how everyone always talked about your cute dimples when you smiled and wondering why Doris and I didn't have dimples-guess you were just special. You will always be in my heart and my prayers. Good bye for awhile. Shirley

Dolly, I have seen the struggle your mom has had thru your eyes and I see peace in them now. I know everyone is missing her, but be at peace that she is in a better place watching over all of you. I still miss her great foods that she made for us and she has left behind great people who will see her again when God deceides that it's time. With deepest sympathy

Grammy,
I can't even begin to explain how much I miss you, and wish I could just see that sweet smile on your face, the sparkle in your big blue eyes just one more time. There is not a day goes by that I don't think of you. Not a moment passes by I don't wonder how you're doing, or even what you are doing. There's a picture of you in my heart and forever it will stay. Thank you for everything you've ever done for me, I don't think you ever knew how much even the tiniest things meant. I'll treasure every memory of you 'till I see you again that day when I too walk with our maker and His amazing grace, but until then, God Bless! I love you Grammy, with all my heart <3

To who knew my Aunt Jane,
May God help you and your families through these difficult times. Though many of my memories are from my childhood of my Aunt Jane, all I can remember is that she was a wonderful, loving person to be around. Her contagious giggle made everyone in her presence feel welcome to be around. Darryl, Mark, Greg and Dolly, I will pray for you to make it through such a difficult time in your lives. Love Y'all, Gary Robinson and Family

Dolly, Darryl, Mark and Gregg:
I was very fortunate to have known Jane as as an "in-law." but was very lucky in that I was a "close" one and had the good fortune of having visited at her home and thus seeing her where she excelled in making everyone as happy as could be. Her very strong open and honest personaality was almost contagious whenever she was present in a room. While her loss can never be restored, the wonderful memories of her unbounding love for family is something which can never be lost to all who knew her.
God Bless Her, and may her memory forever lead all of you throughout your lives.
Sincerely,
Ed McGowan

Goodbye Mom, I miss you already. Thank you for the love and support you have given me throughout my lifetime. I am glad for all the time Erica got to spend growing up with her Grammy. Thank you for helping me raise her, I couldn't have done it without you. She is as beautiful inside and out as you are. It hurts so bad without you here but I am thankful that you are free and at peace now. I know that I will see you again someday so until then, goodbye.
