July 9, 2005

I'm so saddened to read in the Houston Chronicle of my grandmother's death.

My sister and I have resided in Houston all of our lives and never got to know our grandmother Jeannie.

Our father Larry chose to ignore us as his children and I have only heard from my father by e-mail a couple of times. When I would e-mail him, he would answer me very briefly. I have not seen him in about 20 years.

I'm very sad that grandmother Jeannie and Larry chose not to regonize their children, grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who have resided in Houston, Texas all of their lives.

It is a shame that she missed out on knowing me, my sister, her two great grandsons and 2 great grandaughters. This was both of our losses. My father never told me grandmother Jeannie was ailing or that she had passed away.

We did not attend the funeral as we were never told of her passing.

I pray my grandmother has found peace.

Her grandaughter, Laura and two children
