Jeffrey Robinson Obituary

Jeffrey Robinson
12/26/1953 - 12/07/2023
Jeffrey Eli Robinson passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 7th, 2023 after his fight with Cancer. Born in Richmond, Virginia on December 26, 1953, his family moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1959 where he grew up. He attended the University of Texas at Austin for Undergraduate Studies and was a member of the Silver Spurs and Sigma Alpha Mu Jewish Fraternity, afterwards attending the University of Houston for his MBA. He then began his career in banking, where he met and married his wife, Sharon in 1983, with whom he enjoyed 40 loving years. He was incredibly proud of the family they raised together - a lawyer, a physician assistant, and an engineer/MBA. He got into the mortgage business as a loan officer in the early 90's, was a Branch Manager for Republic State Mortgage, and served on the Houston Mortgage Bankers Association Board of Directors for several years. He filled everywhere he went with laughter and joy.
He was an avid sports fan, played golf every weekend, and enjoyed a couple of recurring poker games with his friends. He served for 5 years as Congregation Or Ami's first president, and served for many more years on the finance committee. The family would like to thank Family Caregivers of Houston for their love and care in his last couple of months. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Libby, and his daughter, Andrea. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his daughters Courtney and Haley and her husband Brandon, his son Zane and wife Shannon, his brothers Barry and Steve, his sister Stacy and her husband Darren, and his grandson Hudson. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Monday at Congregation Or Ami with Rabbi Gideon Estes, and laid to rest afterwards at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery.

Jeffrey was one of my best friends in our early teenage years. We started playing golf together in seventh grade, along with a couple of other friends from McLean Junior High; our mothers would drive us out to Benbrook golf course (now Pecan Valley) to play for as little as 50 cents. We spent the night at each other`s houses frequently. Jeffrey was my campaign manager when I ran (successfully) for president of the student body at McLean in ninth grade. When I saw Jeffrey at our Paschal High School 50-year reunion in 2022, we vowed to play golf together the next time I was in Houston. Unfortunately, I didn´t make it to Houston before he passed away. My heart felt condolences to all his family. He was a wonderful, wonderful man.

Jeffrey and I went to middle school and high school together. We shared nearly every class, homeroom (my maiden name is Robinson), and locker. He was an all-around decent guy. I´m so sad for the family. I know he will be deeply missed.
