Dear Glenda, Erin and Bubba,
We were so sadden to learn of Jerry's passing. What a special guy he was, always joking and pulling pranks. I have a file of cards he sent me over the years and I will always cherish them.
Please know that Bud and I are praying for you at this sad time.

I met Jerry a long time ago(about 1978-79) in Houston as a banker where the business banked at the time. He would come and always made us laugh. He was one of the most caring and generous persons I had ever met. For Christmas he gave us small ceramic bells which I still have. I moved to the Magnolia area and was surely suprised when the church I chose to attend I met him again after several years. He was a prankster, fun loving and all around big kid. All the kids at church always went to see him because of the big bag of candy he brought every Sunday. He handed out candy to little ones, sometimes the bigger ones too. He always had a big hug for anyone who needed one. He is truely going to be missed by anyone who ever met him.
I offer my condolences to his family and friends. We shall all meet again in Heaven.

Mike & I want to express our deepest sympathy to Jerry's family. My husband, Mike Vick is a retired painter with Painters Local Union #130. He worked for Owens & Burnett for 19 years as a union painter. Jerry was good to Mike during those years. Jerry & Mike had a working friendship; they would have coffee and visit each morning before Mike had to go to the job site. Mike recalls how funny Jerry was and how they both enjoyed playing pranks on each other. I actually had the opportunity to meet Jerry on a couple of occasions when I had to go to their office to get paperwork completed (Jerry was always willing to do whatever was needed) or drop off baked goods during the holidays. We are truly saddened by his untimely passing. Our hearts go out to the entire family.

To Glenda, Erin and Bubba I send my deepest sympathies for your loss. Cheryl and Beverly I know you are grieving also and I send my love to you. I will miss my long time friend and will cherish all of the memories of our 50+ years of being neighbors, playing baseball, going to school and just keeping in touch. Jerry, your body may have given out but your heart will live forever. May you rest in peace!
