I worked for Joe in Richland, WA when he was President of Fluor Daniel Northwest. I will always remember him saying, "There isn't anything I can't do with a #2 pencil and a Big Chief tablet." And I believe that. He was a great man and he will be missed.

Dearest Anne, We just learned of Joe's tragic accident, and we are so very sorry to hear this sad news. We had changed our email address some time ago, and weren't getting a lot of our emails until recently. Carl and I are heartbroken to hear of Joe's passing. Carl said that Joe was the first friend he met when he moved to Bay City ca. 1946. As you know, they have been good friends since that time. I know he is truly missed by all of your family and friends. He was a wonderful man who touched the lives of so many others in a very positive way. Our love, thoughts, and prayers are with you and your family. Love, Carl and Claudette

Joe was my first Boss, 1977-1978, at Fluor and was such a kind and understanding person to work for as he was interested in everyone's well being.
I was so sad to learn of his passing and want the family to know he treated all his co-workers with dignity and respect and was a great teacher.

Few people have had such a profound positive impact on the lives of others as did Joe Davis. Joe was a genuine gentleman and a friend to everyone. As a senior leader in the Fluor Houston office, Joe indeed demonstrated his leadership abilities, providing guidance and solid, ethical management in a straightforward manner that all who worked with him very much respected and appreciated. Joe was able to manage and lead others in a way that served as an outstanding example for his associates, and clients, to follow. Joe was able to do all of this yet remain a sincere gentleman and fine individual. It was a pleasure to know you, Joe, and you will be dearly missed.

Joe was my first project manager at Fluor. He was a dear and humorous man. Dedicated and encouraging manager. A devoted family man. Loved his hobbies. He will be missed. I feel lucky to have known him.

Anne, may you and your family find peace with Joe's passing. Donna and I still can't believe Joe has left this world. Both of us so looked forward to yours and Joe's visits. Visiting and fishing with Joe while you and Donna were busy at the beauty/nail shop, having lunch out or shopping made us all happy. Donna and I will continue to pray that all your family including David and his family and Mark and his family find peace through the Lord and know for sure that Joe has indeed traveled to a better place. We will continue to pray for all of you. Donna and I will attend the visitation and funeral. We will get the final arrangements from the Memorial Oaks website. Please let us know if there is anything we can help you with.
Love,
Donna and Mike

Anne, I'm heart sick to hear about Joe. I'm not sure how I will tell Ron. I can not imagine what you are going through. I'm glad your family is with you. If I could help your pain in anyway I would. You and Joe were two very special and caring people and helped so many. I will be out of town until June 14th but hope I can bring Ron to the service. Just know our prayers, thoughts and love are with you. Sheila
