Joe Dean Obituary

Joe David Dean
04/30/1968 - 04/18/2023
Joe David Dean, cherished and beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2023 in Denver, Colorado at the age of 54.
He is survived by his mother, Saundra Dean; sisters, Diane Dean and Darla McShan and husband Michael; niece, Jamie Garcia; nephews, David Garcia, William McShan and wife Shayna, and Justin McShan; great-nephews, Charles Garcia and Dean McShan; and great-niece Zoey Garcia. He was predeceased by his father, C. David Dean.
Joe David graduated from Westbury High School in 1986. He then graduated from Ft. Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. From there he earned a JD and Master of Laws from the University of Denver. He was admitted to the Colorado Bar and was a Certified Public Accountant. He went on to have a varied career. He worked as a Tax Associate for KPMG, was a Judicial Law Clerk, worked in private practice, was Motions and Jurisdiction Counsel for the Colorado Court of Appeals and an ADA in Durango.
Cycling, snowboarding, hiking, camping and hunting are things he really enjoyed. Whether snowboarding at Wolf Creek or camping and biking at Moab, he loved the outdoors.
Joe David never looked, or acted, his age. He was the cool uncle who will be remembered for his intelligence, sense of humor and love of the outdoors. We love him and we miss him.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

To the family of Joe David, I am heart broken for you and all who loved Joe David. He could not have a more loving, caring and supportive family. The measure of our love is the measure of our grief and so yours will seem unbearable at times but all the wonderful memories will eventually buffer the sadness and you all will smile again. The last time I saw Joe David was some years ago at a family crawfish boil. He was sitting at the other end of a large feast filled table where all the laughing was going on compliments of Joe David. Big smile, bigger than life.

My heartfelt condolences to all who loved Joe David. I will remember what a quick wit he was, a very intelligent, charming, and handsome guy who was so uniquely down-to-earth and genuine. He really is sadly missed.

I knew Joe David when we were both still considered children. Our parents were the best of friends during their schooling and continued that friendship through adulthood. Our families spent numerous memorable vacations together.
I remember Joe David being a super sweet and sensitive person who deeply loved his family.
I am in awe of Joe David's accomplishments in life!
He was the "baby" in the bunch of us kids (his sisters Diane and Darla, my sister Kim and myself).
Joe David passed away much too soon!
My condolences to his family, friends, and the world that now has to continue without his presence and influence.
