DEAREST ANGIE:
YOUR DAUGHTER MARY CALLED ME YESTERDAY AND TOLD ME ABOUT JOE. I KNOW HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. AFTER I TALKED WITH MARY LATE LAST NIGHT, I SAT DOWN AT MY DESK AND WROTE SOME OF MY FEELINGS. I THOUGHT YOU MIGHT FIND SOME COMFORT IN READING THEM.
I LOST ONE OF MY SPECIAL FRIENDS THIS WEEK. NO FAIRWELL WORDS WERE SPOKEN. NO TIME TO SAY GOODBYE. IT HURTS SO MUCH TO LOSE A BELOVED FRIEND WHO HAS BEEN A PART OF MY LIFE AT WORK AND PLAY FOR OVER FORTY YEARS. WE ENJOYED A SPECIAL BOND WHICH DEVELOPED FROM WORKING TOGETHER AT ST. JOE PAPER COMPANY. THE THOUGHT OF KNOWING THAT I WILL NEVER SEE JOE AGAIN FILLS MY HEART WITH SORROW. FEW PEOPLE POSSESS THE VITALITY OF LIFE JOE DISPLAYED THROUGHOUT OUR FRIENDSHIP. OUR FRIENDSHIP SURPASSED WHAT FRIENDSHIP MEANS.
JOE, WE BOTH TOUCHED MANY LIVES IN OUR LIFEIME IN A POSITIVE WAY. I KNOW YOU ARE NOW RESTING IN PEACE.
DUE TO MY PRESENT HEALTH PROBLEMS AND SUSAN'S RECENT BACK SURGERY, I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TRAVEL FROM MIDLOTHIAN TO HOUSTON. OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU, YOUR MOTHER AND FAMILY.
WARMEST REGARDS,
LUCIAN & SUSAN WILLIAMS

LITTLE JOE WAS A FRIEND OF MINE. WE WORKED TOGETHER FOR YEARS AT ST. JOE PAPER CO., AND SHARED MANY GOOD TIMES AT THE "FISHING SHACK" AT CHOCOLATE BAYOU. WE HAVE MANY FOND MEMORIES OF FISHING, GATHERING OYSTERS, AND JUST TELLING STORIES. JOE ALWAYS DID THE COOKING, AND WAS A GREAT COOK.
OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH ANGIE AND THE FAMILY. JOE WILL BE MISSED.
