Joel Gonzalez Obituary
His most precious treasure was his 6 year old daughter Savannah Gonzalez who resides in Guadalajara, Mexico. She was the topic of endless praises and bragging. There was no one he loved more having tattooed her name on his left shoulder.
Joel's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. He was a proud and active member of the Houston Viper Club, American Motocross Association and President of the Organization of the Unorganized (OOTU). He was a prime example of a true daredevil and his passion for cars was apparent at an early age acquiring all his dream cars which included a 1969 Chevy Impala, 1998 Dodge Viper, 2006 Porsche and a High Performance Subaru Impreza. He was his own boss at Nexus Disposal LCC supervising truck drivers and leading monthly safety meetings. He will be remembered for frequently quoting his favorite movies like "Nacho Libre".
Joel is survived by his precious daughter Savannah, loving parents Efrain and Maria Gonzalez; siblings and their spouses Efrain Jr. & Minerva, Beatriz & Victoriano, Armando, Adrian; nieces Vanessa, Alejandra, Isabela, Victoria; and nephew Izzak Gonzalez.
He was preceded in death by his paternal uncle Joel Gonzalez of Morelia, Michoacán.
A visitation will be held Wednesday February 29, 2012 from 4 to 9:00pm and a memorial service will be held at Brookside Cypress Creek Funeral Home on Thursday March 1, 2012 at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.

I won't forget how you would ask me everyday " how you doing on roll-off, you need help?" no matter how long of a day you had on a front load route that day you were always willing to help out on roll off. Thank you. You were a hard worker and were always making us girls at the office laugh. You will be very missed Joel, but I know we will see u again someday. To Savannah and the whole Gonzalez family...we are so sorry for your loss. We are new to the neighborhood and didn't have a chance to get to know Joel very well. Sunday morning I received a text from friends in Houston telling me of this tragic loss. As I was driving to work I was praying for the Gonzalez Family and I felt peace as God revealed that at one time in his life Joel asked and received our Lord Jesus into his life. The loss of a loved one is very painful, but Mathew 5:4 promises us that “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” I have many joyful memories of Joel when we were growing up, riding bikes, riding skateboards, riding motorcycles even riding horses, always riding something. My family and I will continue to pray for you, Gonzalez Family. God Bless you.

We are so sad to have found out Mr. Joel has left us. We live behind him and our sons Logan and Connor constantly kicked their balls over the fence. He would always be kind to them and tell them "No problem guys just go get them if I am not home". Seems like such a small thing but to my boys Mr. Joel ruled. They loved to see him drive by. As a matter of fact, on Sunday AM we were going to eat and Mr. Joel was driving his bright red car going home. My sons said look mom it is Mr. Joel. God Bless you all and know he lived his dream. We will miss him.

What can I say about you my friend....I like the rest of your friends and family were shocked to get this phone call.I am glad to have had to chance to call you my friend. We have so many memories and good times together.I will never forget you singing Ramon Ayala songs at football practice or making pigeon calls on the bus after we lost a game.I remember you always waking up on Saturday morning to wash the company trucks..not because you had to ,but because you wanted to have the trucks shining. You were one of the hardest working men I have ever known.You taught me how to view work ethic and what it is to be a proud father. I know we will meet again my friend....so this is not goodbye, but until we meet again.
