John Cloud Obituary

John Thomas "Tommy" Cloud, age 70, passed away on the 7th of August 2012 in Houston. He was the third child of Thomas A. Cloud and Hester E. Cloud and was born in Houston on the 14th of July 1942. He attended Lamar High School and married Mary Jane Haines in 1963. He was a long time resident of Houston, moved to Marble Falls in 1991, and later to Wimberley in 2003.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his beloved Mary Jane, who died in 2007; and by his brother, Randolph Cloud. He is survived by his loving wife Monika Cloud; his two sons, Tommy Cloud and his wife Ana Lisa; and Ian Cloud and his wife Cassie; and his grandchildren, Thomas John Cloud, Kelsey Cloud, Tristan Cloud and Austin Cloud; and by his sister, Dorothy Bowles.
He was an entrepreneur in every sense of the word. He ran several successful businesses over his life from construction to banking to finance.
Tommy will always be remembered for his wit and charm and for living his life to the fullest - no compromises and no regrets. He never met a stranger and was always free with a story or a joke. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A memorial service is to be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 14th of August, in the sanctuary of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive in Houston, where Rev. Rick Myers, Associate Pastor of Caring Ministries, is to officiate.
Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held at a venue to be announced at the service.
In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions may be directed to Casa de Esperanza-House of Hope for Children, P.O. Box 66581, Houston, TX, 77266.

Tommy and Ian:
Your Dad was one of my favorite people. Funny, tough, acerbic, compassionate, fearless and thoughtful. Not necessarily in that order always, but always a force to be reckoned with. May he rest in peace.
