John Krumnow Obituary

John Richard
Krumnow joined our heavenly Father on May 30, 2013 after battling cancer at M.D. Anderson Hospital.
Born in Austin, Texas on October 16, 1955 to John Henry Krumnow and wife Jeannine Sharp, he is survived by his Mother and brother Dennis. Along with many relatives and friends he will be dearly missed. John earned his high school degree in 1974 from Memorial High School in Houston, his undergraduate degree in 1979 from Southern Methodist University, and his law degree in 1983 from South Texas College of Law in Houston where he excelled as a student and debater. John was a competitive swimmer in high school and earned an athletic swimming scholarship at SMU where he competed several times at the national level. He also enjoyed snow skiing, scuba diving, and was a low handicap golfer. At the time of his passing John was the Director of Special Projects at the Denver International Airport for Provenzano Resources Inc. where "He was absolutely admired, respected and well liked by all who came in contact with John. We could not have been more proud than to have known and worked with John." In celebration of his life, a memorial service was held June 13, 2013 at Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club.
Happiness was his footprint and all who knew "Johnny K." were blessed by his eternal love and zest for life. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to the First Tee of Greater Houston, 5810 Wilson Road, Sutie 112 Humble, Texas 77396 in the name of John Krumnow.

I've probably talked to much as it is, but my after senior year in HS my twin, me, Jeff, and John snuck into the Dad's club late one night to swim after closing..We could not get in and village police caught us...we explained our situation and let us go..I remember John telling the police how his dad was a texas ranger..the cops were really impressed...lol...so funny...

I remember when I though about trying out for the Kansas City Royals baseball team....John always called me 'KC' afterwards, and I called him 'DK'...after hours of softball in summer John and I always got the fruit punch at Baskin Robbins...how those other guys ate ice cream bewildered us.

John was a kind and fun-loving man who was generous with his time and kept an upbeat attitude no matter what. I am glad to have known him.
