John Ostrom Obituary
John Michael Ostrom A devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother entered into eternal life on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 in Houston, Texas. He was born on September 7, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri to Oscar Ostrom and Elizabeth Smallwood. Mr. Ostrom was very devoted to his grandkids who were truly the passion of his life. He leaves to cherish fond memories, his loving wife of 39 years, Barabara Ostrom of Houston; two sons, Jason Ostrom of Houston and Brad Ostrom and wife Anna of Little Rock, Arkansas; three sisters, Betty Jean Garcia and husband Louie and Joan Moeller and husband Carl, all of Houston and Mary Kay Hayes and spouse Joe of Corpus Christi; three grandchildren, Daniel Ostrom, Alexander Ostrom and Jane Frances Ostrom and a host of devoted family, friends and colleagues. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.in the Chapel of Pat H. Foley & Co. with a rosary and vigil service at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman St., Houston, TX 77018. He will await the resurrection at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

Dear Barbara, Jason, Brad
Our thought and prayers are with the whole family.
I have many fond memories growing up in Houston with John. He was like another big brother, but one that was fun to be with. The family get together at the lake, the bay, the times he would take us fishing are all cherished.
None of us know when the Lord calls us to Him and it is always hard for those left behind. But just knowing our loved ones, that have gone before us, are there to greet him and knowing God’s arms are wrapped around all of us, gives comfort.
He will be deeply missed,

I am so sorry for your loss and shocked to hear of John's passing. I have many fond memories of my Cousin. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. John will always live in our hearts and I hope our prayers will help to mend your saddened hearts.

We are so sad to hear of your loss. We will miss seeing "Po Po" at his grandchildrens' sporting events and school functions and giving out the candy and treats at the annual Halloween party.
