I'm not even sure where to begin. I have so many fond childhood memories of my Uncle Johnny. Uncle Johnny taught me how to ride my bike without training wheels, he made me homemade diapers when I wet my pants.......I know, embarrassing,......but Uncle Johnny always took care of me. I remember one Christmas when Jennifer and I decorated his Christmas tree and loaded all the ornanments on the front causing the tree to fall over. All Uncle Johnny did was laugh. He was truly a good man. We lost touch with him many years ago but he was never far in our hearts or in our prayers. We often talked about trying to find Uncle Johnny but never knew exactly where to begin. I wish we would have tried harder. I often wondered what happened to him and knew he would be so proud of Jennifer and myself. I guess now he is looking down from heaven and can see how we turned out! I know you guys miss him and are sad he is no longer here on earth with us.........but know he is in Heaven with God looking down on us, waiting til we see him again. I will always love you Uncle Johnny!

Jonny was a part of my life for over 21 years, and I have so many good memories of our life together. He was a kind man, a gentle man and a patient man. I loved him very much as did the rest of my family. Although we lost touch so many years ago, Jonny was never far from my thoughts and always remained in my heart. I often wondered how he was doing and I prayed that God was taking care of him and life was treating him well. I was blessed with the years we had together and I thank God that Jonny and you his family were a part of my life. As I grieve his loss, I look to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to comfort you. One day we will join Jonny in Heaven. Until that day, Jonny, you will live in our hearts.

I will greatly miss my Uncle Jonny. Even though we lost touch with him in our later years he was thought of often. I remember his great cooking. When I was little I didn't like seafood gumbo so he'd make me a special pot of sausage gumbo instead. He was there as "santa" many times and helped us learn to ride bikes and stuff. We tried finding Uncle Jonny for my wedding last year and didn't reach him in time. I'm sad that I was not able to see him again. I love you Uncle Jonny!!!!

Although Jonny had not been part of my family's life for many years, we spoke of him often. Jonny was such a caring man, and we remember him with loving thoughts. Even a I grieve, I look forward to the day when we will meet again in Heaven. May the Lord give your family peace in this time of sorrow.

Knowing he's with God now smiling down on us, we will forever keep him in our hearts & all the laughter & memories that were created over the years. Jon will be sorely missed, but will see each other one day in our eternal lives & once again enjoy the laughter with him.

Now I know the reason why I was working so hard to find Jonny. I am Terry(soapy)Savant. Jonny was my best friend at McNeese. I had not spoken to him sice approx. 1980. This is tough writing this while crying. I was able to find Jonny recently and we visted a couple times. He told me that he would come to Pine Prairie when he would go vist his dad and mom. Never had the chance. I will miss him. Even though we had not talked in a while, I always new I had a special friend somewhere. Now I have one in heaven waiting for my turn to leave this world.

Jon,
I was so sad when I heard. It made me think back to all of the deep, spiritual conversations we had over the years. I am at peace knowing that you were a man of God. However, I will still miss you. I now know you have eternal peace.
