Joseph Anthony Cotrone, known to his loved ones as Joe, passed away on August 31, 2023, at the age of 88 in Houston, Texas. Born on October 03, 1934, in Houston, Texas, Joe was a cherished member of his community.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Charles Cotrone, his mother, Lula Canatella Cotrone, and his siblings John Cotrone, Paul Cotrone, and Jacqueline Cotrone Dietz.
Joe graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1953. He then went on to serve his country in the US Army, where he was a member of the 7th Armored Division Army Band and where he met and married his wife Brigitte in Stuttgart Germany. They were married for 64 years.
In his free time, Joe had a passion for music and was skilled in playing the saxophone and clarinet. He found great joy in expressing himself through his musical talents. He enjoyed the camaraderie of friends he made as a member of Unico and the Sacred Heart Society.
Joe was a member of St. Jerome's Parish, where he found solace and community. He continued his love for music by playing in the band at services. His faith was an important part of his life.
Joe will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his love for music. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and warmth that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Brigitte Cotrone, and their children: son Michael Cotrone (wife Margaret), and daughter Vivian Chambers (husband Clayton). He was also a proud grandfather to Emily Cotrone and Matthew Cotrone. Joe's memory will be forever cherished by his family.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am on November 22, 2023 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8825 Kempwood Drive, Houston, Tx.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the St. Thomas High School scholarship fund in his name.
