Joseph Hillstrom Obituary

Joseph K. Hillstrom
1928-2022
Joseph Kennedy Hillstrom, a.k.a. Ken, left this life peacefully in his ninety-third year, on February 18, 2022. He was the youngest of nine children and the last sibling to pass. Born and raised on a farm in northern Michigan where he grew strong, he subsequently became a big city dweller in six of the nation's major ones ending in a pleasant home in Houston. Over the years he became an Army sergeant, traveler, teacher, writer and author, college administrator, adjunct professor, and free lance writer-editor in a quietly rollicking life that he enjoyed immensely. He was ever grateful for a loving upbringing in a large family, good health, a Mensa mind, strong talent in both writing and music, a good golf swing, and compassion for his fellow human beings of every hue, except greedy and bombastic ones, and also for his beloved wife of nearly fifty years, Linda, always remarkably caring and interesting. He accepted his eventual passing from the get-go, thanks his numerous relatives and friends for their lively companionship, and regretted only not being able to finish more things he wanted to do to help humanity.
