Joseph Kutach Obituary

Joseph Kutach
09/16/1932 - 11/25/2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Franklin Kutach on November 25th, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born September 16th, 1932 in Hallettsville, Texas the second of five children of Valasta and Alfred Kutach. He married his wife Gloria LeCour on November 17th, 1956. They recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.

Joe grew up in Houston, Texas. After graduating from high school, he went to work for Houston Lighting and Power Company. He was drafted for 2 years of service in the Army before returning to HL&P. He saved his money starting from a childhood paper route to buy his first piece of land and later adding the farm in Caldwell, Texas where he enjoyed working and raising cattle.

Joe will be remembered by many for his love of fishing, spending countless hours on lake Houston, and playing dominos. Joe was an active member of the Montgomery County Senior Citizen's Garden. He enjoyed a beautiful and bountiful garden. He loved sharing his vegetables with friends, family, and even strangers. The garden community supported his love of playing cards leading to many lifelong friendships.

He is leaving behind his wife of 68 years, Gloria Kutach; his children: Karen Kutach, Michael Kutach, Shelley Thorpe-Hunter, Gina Kutach, and Dana Kutach; brother, Alvin Kutach (Honey); his grandchildren: John Heckenkamp, Sherene Kutach, Kara Boyer, Blazedale Boyer (Olivia), Jordan Rauh, Sara Thorpe, and Cody Hunter; his great grandchildren: Leighlend Piper and Harlow Heckenkamp along with many nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Alfred and Vlasta Kutach: son, Matthew Stephen Kutach; brothers: Jerry, Wilbert, and Alfred Kutach Jr.

Funeral services will begin Tuesday, December 3rd with a rosary at 6pm and visitation from 7-9pm. The funeral will be Wednesday, December 4th at 2:30pm in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Memorial: 13747 Eastex Freeway.
