I went to Brenham this week. Can't help thinking of you. I walk the trails in the Woodlands and think of you because we spoke weekly when I did this. I miss our conversations to this day. You're impact on me is everlasting. Thank you for picking me as a friend. Love and remembrance always. Kelly

Joe I still miss and think of you continually. I miss our long conversations and the knowledge you passed along. I hope from heaven you can see how my grandchildren have grown that you took an interest in . I will be planting some new flowers this spring in the pots that you gave me to keep you around. Love you Joe. Kelly
Joe Perino
April 7, 2019
I first heard about Joe Perino when a friend of my father's passed through Houston on his way back to Minnesota. he picked up a copy of the Chronicle and there was Joe's photo announcing that he had been made fire chief. The friend passed the newspaper on to my Dad, Joe Sr. (I am Joe Jr.) who as a joke decided to substitute his photo for Joe's, made a copy of it and sent it to me at university. Little did I realize that months later I would move to Houston in the fall of 1976 where Joe was indeed chief. After Joe left his City role and started his own consulting business, I received numerous calls from people looking for Joe. This lead to my meeting with Joe, Sadie and Susan back in the mid-1980s. I learned about Joe's Italian family background from the New Orleans/Metarie, LA area and the Mancuso family here in Houston. (We're not related.) I could not have met finer people. And now that Sadie and Joe are both gone, my heart goes out to Susan. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I met Joe in 2017 when he moved to Fairview. We sure had fun exploring McKinney and finding new places to eat. Joe gave me great advice many times. His smile and laugh will always be remembered by me. God Bless Joe Perino!

Joe was a best friend to me for the last three years. We spoke two to three times a week and had many enjoyable laughs and conversations. I will greatly miss him and only wish I had met him sooner. You enhanced my life greatly and you will always be remembered.

I didn't know Joe, but had the pleasure of speaking with him two years ago when he contacted me to check on my dad Frank Varuso, Joe's uncle in New Orleans and only living sibling from his mother Francis's family. My dad told me stories of his many nephews, some his age or older, and how they all got along back in the day and loved each other. My dad called me this morning informing me of Joe's passing, reflecting back on their friendship and admiration of each other. We wish Joe's family peace and share your sadness.
