Joseph Walker Obituary
Joseph was a resident of Houston, Texas and Tuckernuck Island. He had a rich life. He was born in the United Arab Emirates and also lived in Singapore before moving to Houston. He attended Klein High School and graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2010, where he had made the Dean's list, and was also a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was an energy and natural gas consultant for Choice Energy and was recently awarded "rookie of the year." He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and a certified master diver but first and foremost was LSU's best football fan. His heart was bigger than the world and he loved everyone no matter their race, social standing or religion. He in turn was loved by all because he always found the good rather than look for people's faults and weaknesses. He was truly one of God's great achievements. Joseph dedicated his life to Christ on the 8th of February 2012 at Lakewood Church, and on 9th of September 2012 was baptized at Waters Edge Community Church by Pastor Dwight Edwards.
He is survived by his mother, Grace Walker; and his father, Joseph Walker; his grandfather, Dudley Deville; his grandmothers, Diana Brown and Margarita Deville; his uncles, John Walker and Anthony Deville; and his aunts, Diana Walker, Susan Gieskie, Mary Cochrane, and Vivian Brown. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and hundreds of friends that he would have considered all of his family.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Denley Walker, who was a WWII aviator, recipient of the Navy Cross, and was a CIA officer for 30 years. They are together now.
The memorial service is to be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 9th of March, at The Church of St. John the Divine, 2450 River Oaks Boulevard in Houston, where the Rev. Dr. Douglas W. Richnow, Senior Associate Rector, is to officiate. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception at Capones Restaurant, 4304 Westheimer Road in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, and for those desiring, contributions in memory of Joseph Warren Denley Walker may be directed to Wounded Warriors Project, Attn: G.O.T, 4899 Beofort Rd., Ste 300, Jacksonville, FL, 32256; or the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 900 Portway Dr, Houston, TX, 77024-7395.

I miss Joseph very much. He brought laughter and affection wherever he was. He loved to be a part of the fun and shared his happiness always. It is amazing to me that Josephs quality of love for others was his most memorable gift and how we miss his physical presence! We miss his laughter and the fun he brought with him wherever he was. I think I never heard him laugh more than when he allowed a mean rooster to chase him around. What entertainment! We love you Joseph.

I did not know the family although I share a name with Josephs Grandfather as my name is John Denley. I was doing some research on my own family name and got interested in the John Denley Walker story, but in searching for more about him, I found this very sad story. I was born in 1970, so Joseph was 15 years younger than me and its terrible to think that anyone could be taken away so early in life, although its good to read how well regarded he was in the community :D

Dear Grace,
It is just this morning that I learned of Joe's death. My heart has just about stopped as I try to comprehend this sad news. I thought of both of you this spring when I was going through some of my books and found one that you had given me. I'll remember Joe always for his intelligence and for his wonderful sense of humor that was notable even in elementary school. I so wish I sould wrap my arms around you; please know that I am thinking of you.

Dear Grace and Joe,
We were so fortunate to meet Joseph on Tuckernuck two years ago and to get to know him and enjoy him so very much. He was indeed everything that everyone has written about.
No one should lose a child before we go to be with the Lord ourselves. It is so hard to understand and accept sometimes that these things are in God's hands and we have no control over them.
Our love, our sympathy, our prayers and our hope that Joseph's love for you will comfort you through the days ahead. Please know that you can call us for anything that we can do to help. Sometimes it is just nice to have someone to talk to.

Dear cousin is sad that the loss which was your greatest love is the motivator for me contacting you this because the last time we met, we both had less than 15 years. But the great love that Jesus Christ unites me makes me partaker of your pain. I know you grew up in a Christian home which is not how much you have your faith in Jesus Christ. Joseph you were such a sweet child When i first met you. I watched you grow up along with the other CFB'S as you called yourselves. From Brill, to Kleb then Klein. I remember when Joseph was in elementary school, one day, he told his Mom; he said, "you see with your heart." That wisdom always has stayed with me. I know he did see those around him with his heart. This is why he was so generous with his laughter and always thoughtful, careful and kind in his words. I became friends with Joe freshman year at LSU. I was immediately attracted to his contagious personality and zest for life. We drifted appart after freshman year, but would occasionally bump in to each other and laugh. I'm sorrowful for the loss of his wonderful life, but celebrate in the grace that God grants us in salvation. My thoughts and prayers are with his parents and those closest to Joe.

Joe Walker & family - Oh my God, words cannot express my grief for your family - my heart aches. Please know that we are griefing with you and you all are in my families prayers daily.
We were neighbors in Champion Forest on Asprey Court for a while. I met you and your son Joe after the hurricane when we became friends and neighbors by sharing gasoline, water and generators for electricity for several days.
We heard from mutual friends about the tragic occurance and we read some details in the chronicle that Joe received Jesus in his heart prior to his passing. I pray that you could pease take comfort in knowing that Joe has arrived in Heaven to be with Jesus where we all are striving to arrive.
May God Bless you Joe, stay strong for your family and we miss seeing you around the neighborhood.

Mr. And Ms. Walker, the life and human that you created with Joe has touched so many people. His heart and smile were enough to fill an entire room.
