Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Ward Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Over 1,800 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have some wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and only want you know that we care.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.
Sincerely and Respectfully,

You should be receiving a quilt from Freedom Quilts real soon if you haven't received it already. It is our way of saying we care and we want to bring you some comfort. Shed your tears on your quilt wrap yourself and let it be arms wrapping you with love and comfort. OUr deepest sympathy for the pain you now carry with you. We thank you for being into this world a hero that stood tall and gave of himself for others. I know a mother would rather have her son in her arms safe instead of burying him and dealing with a pain like no other pain. We are here if you need us if you need to have someone reach out and pray with you for strenght my email my dear is [email protected] my website is www.freedomquilts.net the quilts are for all the parents and spouse that have lost a love one since September 11, 2001 that is when I started this project and that is why I'm still at it. With total honor and respect these quilts are made for the families that lost so much just so the rest of us could enjoy freedom.

Josh, God bless you soldier and thank you for your brave and honorable service to a grateful nation and for paying the ultimate price for our freedom.. You are now in great company with God and so many other fallen heroes before and after you. On 5/6/08 my nephew PFC Aaron J. Ward was killed in action in Iraq and my final promise to him was to never forget him and our fallen hero’s, we will never forget their commitment and sacrifice. To the Ward family, words cannot express the pain we now share, but our families will forever have a bond and we will be thinking of Joshua and your family and will keep you in our thoughts & prayers. Since the loss of my nephew I have written on every single legacy page of every fallen soldier and included a photo of my nephew. I encourage you to do the same to Aaron's page. I have done this to honor my nephew but to let you know your loved one is not alone and my nephew is with him and they are now in God's gracious hands waiting for us to join them one day. From the bottom of my heart please except my sincere condolences and may the memories of your Hero carry you through each day for he will never be forgotten!

This Poem Is Written By A Soldier:

All mortal beings, which God brought forth, die the same

Man is not exempt

All will inevitably end as the dust from where we came

It matters not of edge

Do not mourn me if I should fall in a foreign land

Think this of my passing

In a far-off field a finer soil mixed with the foreign sand

A dust that is American

A dust that laughed,cried, and loved as an American

Follow The Rainbow To Heaven.
==========================

A Soldier had die out on the
battlefield; broken hearts
are weeping for them,

But take comfort of knowing
that God had sent them a
rainbow from heaven;

The Souls of the Soldiers
have gone to there home
in heaven,

Our Loved One's has follow
God's lovely rainbow in the
sky; all the way to the end
of the sky.

That leads all the way to the
other end of the Lord's
house in heaven;

So just keep on praying and
trust that God will send us
that same rainbow in the sky,

Where Our Loved One's are
waiting for You and for me at
the end of the rainbow in
heaven.

When You Cry; I Cry Too.
==========================

I feel Your pains;
I feel Your sorrow,
I feel Your grief;
I feel Your sadness,
I feel what You are
feeling too, when
You cry, I cry too.
And it hurts to see
another brother of
mine dying out on
the battlefield; the
whole world is a
battlefield for all
of the Soldiers and
Policemen and Firemen
too, They say that
God Himself also weep
when we die.
Yes I feel Your pains;
Yes I feel Your sorrow,
Yes I feel Your grief;
Yes I feel Your sadness,
Yes I feel what You
are feeling too; And
Yes when You cry,
I cry too.

Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen

I started sponsoring Joshua through the AdoptAUSSoldier program in the beginning of January. We became friends, and I always enjoyed talking to him online. I came to discover that he was a passionate, intelligent man who loved his family and friends with all his heart (he told me that his sons were his whole world). I feel truly blessed to have known him, and I know that he is here with us, watching over his loved ones.

I am now more patriotic than ever, all because of him. He was a truly wonderful person. I thought I'd share something he wrote to me on January 9, 2009:

"I serve my country because I love it, and I serve because if I wasn't there, there would be some other person here instead of me, and, well, I think that whoever would have taken my place should be at home enjoying their life. I serve because it makes me feel good inside. It makes me know that there is always something out there to strive for. In this case, I strive to help other people in the world that don't have the opportunities that I have. There is a lot of other boring reasons that are really corny but, you know, it's just what I choose to do because in my country, I have the right to make that choice."

Dear Josh,

I just wanted you to know how much we will all miss you. You taught me so many things and I am honored to have known you bro. There is something that I never told you but wish that I had, and want everyone else to know as well. You had this light around ya man. Whenever I was down and depressed, or in really bad situation, or freezing cold, or mad, or sad, or anything and you would come around it would just instantly get that much better. Just by you being there with me I was instantly put in that light and it was strange but real. I can still feel that presence man. Its almost like you never left and Im betting its because you never did. I know your here with us all looking out for us and protecting us. Thank you brother, for not only your service in life; but for the fact that your personality was so strong that it is still comforting us in your death. I love you man. Respect.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.

Josh,
You were such an incredible friend, and will always be my brother. I can't begin to express how hard these last few days have been as we put you to rest. I miss you so very much and I want you to know how much your sacrifice meant to all of us and to this country. You will NEVER be forgotten and I know you will be looking out for me as I deploy again to Iraq soon. You were a fearless warrior and your spirit will be with me in the cockpit to inspire strength and courage. I thank God for the opportunity to have a part in your life, and I thank you for your role in mine. I will see you on the other side brother. I love you dude.

My deepest sympathy goes to the Ward family. He must have been an awesome individual. God surely holds him in his arms today. I am an aunt of two former Army soldiers and a current Marine still in the middle of the conflicts of our world and pray daily for these young men and women. I will keep you all and Joshua in my daily prayers as you experience a pain for my peace. Thank you for your son, husband, brother, nephew, husband, and father. My family is extremely appreciative for men and women living their lives and sacrificing them for our comfort. May God bless you all and keep you close to His Sacred Heart.
Yours In Christ!

My heart breaks for your family. I am a proud member of the Brazoria County Cavalry and I rode with all of you Friday. I do this as my namesake John "Jackie" St.John fought and died for our country in WWII. There was no escort for him. My Grandmother struggled the rest of her life over her "forgotten" son. So in both thier honor I ride with the cavalry to make sure no soldier is forgotten, or left unhonored or no family feels alone. It is my hope that this made a difference for your family, that you know we all think he is a hero and also know he will never be forgotten. This particular ride was very healing for me as much as it was heartbreaking. My dear friend Tracy Tribble, mother of fallen soldier Brett Tribble was there too. It was a tough day for her also but as with me she ended up finding it theraputic. She also rides with the cavalry now to honor Brett, but this was her first military funeral since his untimely death. I am proud of her for coming, for she is one of the few that truly know what you are and will be going through. I am saying all this so that you know that in life and now in death your precious Son, Father, Fiance, and Brother is still a hero and is still helping others. He WILL NOT be forgotten, this selfless loved one of yours. I will continue to ride in his honor and in honor of all our heros past and present. His legacy will live on in all of us, we will make sure of it. You will always be in my thought and prayers. God Bless you.

To the parents and family, I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to heal you as He gives comfort to you today.

I just wanted to express my condolences to Josh's family. I remember riding the bus and going to school with him when you guys first moved to Needville. Joshua was one of those guys who always made you laugh and would do anything for you. He was known for his sense of humor! We lost contact after school and I wish we hadn't. He was a wonderful person! My family would like to thanks to Josh for standing up for our country. My thoughts and prayers are with your family in this time of need.

I do not know this young man, but I thank him, so much for serving my country and my safety. I did pray and asked God to wait for him at the gate. I can just imagine how wonderful that was and the angels all around him. God Bless you all and remember He, has promised you will see him again.
