Kevin O'Neill Obituary
1969-2018
Kevin Richard O'Neill died peacefully on January 19, 2018, at the age of 48. He was the beloved son of Ann and William K. O'Neill and brother of Julie Linn. Kevin was known for his huge smile, kind heart, and compassion as a social worker here in Houston. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Kevin attended Memorial High School where he was actively involved in Young Life. He was also a camp counselor at Laity Lodge Youth Camp. Kevin graduated from Texas State University with a degree in social work. After becoming a geriatric social worker impacting the lives of many families, Kevin went to University of Houston where he earned a Master of Social Work degree. He was a dedicated and loving social worker for over 20 years. Kevin loved fishing and was always the organizer of a bay fishing trip during the annual family gathering on South Padre Island. Kevin is survived by his parents, Ann and Bill O'Neill, his sister Julie Linn and husband David Linn, nephews Caden and Evan Linn, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. Kevin had a big heart and an infectious laugh. He loved his family deeply. He had incredible faith and a passion for serving others. We thank God for the time we had with him. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at one p.m., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road, with Father Wayne Wilkerson officiating. In lieu of floral tributes, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or stjude.org.

I just heard of Kevin's passing yesterday. I'm so very sorry for your loss! I worked with Kevin for several years at Memorial Hermann Southwest. He was always so full of energy and a joy to work with.

I typed in "Kevin O'Neill" in Google last night and found out Kevin had passed??!! What??!! Shocking! I was hoping to find out how and what he's doing. My heart was deeply saddened to read about this. Kevin was an amazing person and will be sorely missed by his friends and family. Let's be honest, Kevin was a good person. Everyone liked Kevin! Kevin was magical!...Kevin made a big impact in my early life and I have many fond memories. I still think about him from time to time, and was hoping to find information about the man he grew up to be. So sad...Kevin has a great family! My heart goes out to them. I have no words...I'm sure they are heartbroken. I miss you, Kevin.
