WHAT A GAIN FOR HEAVEN. I came online to sign the guestbook and never expected to find 19pages, at least at the time I signed, but it goes to show you how much Kim was loved. Kim was in the same class with my sister, Karen and they were also Rythym Steppers together. Although they graduated in 1980 and I finished in 1982, I feel like an honorary member of their class because I spent so much time around all of them. Everyone from HEBERT HIGH can remember being part of a close knit family and community and those are days we will all cherish forever. When we lose one of our members it leaves a void with everyone who was a part of that great time in history. I was saddened to hear of Kim's passing and unable to make the services due to work. To the Broussard and Marcel families, please know that you were in my prayers then and continue to be now. It's not easy to lose a loved one, but the God we all serve will get you through this trying time. One last comfort in all of this is there is no more pain or suffering for Kim, God has welcomed her home and I see "Big Rose"(as we affectionately called her) singing calling on the defense, Lottie B. Mills telling Kim to hit those points and Kim is putting on her final performance tapping those streets of Gold with her white patent leather boots and that blue and gold suit representing and making all the Panthers proud. Rest in Peace Kim.

To Mr. & Mrs. Broussard, Mitch and Family,

I got to know Kim through her friendship with my sister Gaye (Williams) Patterson. I remember Kim as a beautiful, sweet-spirited girl. Gaye has kept me informed of Kim's situation and me and many of my friends here in California have been interceding for her and for her family. This must be such a difficult time for you. Please know that many are praying for your strength, comfort and peace. Know that we don't have to mourn as those who have no hope. Kim will live on through her legacy and the fond memories so many hold of her, but most important, she lives on in eternity. She will be missed. May God bless your family and may his peace and comfort be your constant companions.

Perfect submission, all is at rest; I in my Savior am happy and blest, watching and waiting, looking above, filled with his goodness lost in his love.

To: The Marcel Family; Carolyn, Leonard, Kristi, and Kelli.
No mere words can express the heartfilled sympathy I would like to express at this time; for words may comfort, but will not relieve or take away your pain! It's good to know that your family has great FAITH IN GOD's GRACE; and in time you will be strengthed by GOD'S GRACE--HIS never- ending GRACE will see you through these hard times. Be comforted in the knowledge that Kim is with our Heavenly Father, where she will never again know any pain, grief, or troubles of this world. My thoughts and prayers will always be with you; and if there is anything within my power I can do to assist you, please do not hesitate to call, or stop by.
Your friend and neighbor, Jean

January 23, 2010

To the Marcel and Brousard Family, you have our deepest condolences. Dana Thomas Williams- What I remember most about Kim - When I was a young girl, I would ride my bike to Michelle Allen's house on Bolivar, and when Kim's name would come up, Michelle would always share how kind and great she was to her sisters. She was a Mother hen to them and her parents were grateful of her helping them. I was not surprised to find out about her Kindness Ministry Involvement. I now have a daughter with that same spirit. I also remember the friendship that Kim and my sister, Angela Thomas shared in school.

We pray a lifetime of God's strength upon her family (Marcel's and the Broussard Family).

Kim is rejoicing with the angels where the streets are paved in gold...no more pain, no more illness, just sweet, sweet joy. We often wonder why God takes the good people home and leaves the bad people here on earth...it is because Kim had her life and relationship with God together while God gives the bad people time to get it right with the father. May God strengthen and comfort you during the loss of your loved one.
