Leona Benfer Obituary

LEONA KATHERINE KLEB BENFER, 88, a lifetime resident of the Klein Community, passed away May 29, 2007. Leona was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Thrift Store. Leona worked alongside her husband, Willie as a vegetable farmer and cattle rancher. She had a special affection for animals which was evident in the care she gave to her cattle and pets. Leona also loved to travel with her family and friends. Leona is preceded in death by her husband Willie Benfer; parents: Ervin and Theresa Schultz Kleb; sisters: Ervamay Schindewolf and Velora Benfer; and brother: Vernon Kleb. Leona is survived by her sons: Harvey Benfer and wife Jeanette and Melvin Benfer and wife Sandra; daughter: Janis Sanders and husband Jerry; grandchildren: Teresa Bien and husband Ryan, Sherry Benfer, Heather Terrell and husband Chris, and Holly Benfer; great grandchildren: Lindsay and Brett Bien; brother: James Kleb; sister: Florine "Mopsy" Niehouse; sister-in-law: Alene Kieschnick; along with numerous other nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Klein Funeral Home, Tomball. The funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 18926 Klein Church Road. The burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery burial Fund.
