Linda Peveto Obituary

LINDA PEVETO
04/05/1942 - 10/29/2024
Linda Joyce Peveto, born April 5, 1942, in Houston, Texas, to Carl and Allene Smith, passed away peacefully with her husband and sons at her side on October 29, 2024.

Raised in the Heights neighborhood of Houston, Linda attended Reagan High School before graduating from Baylor University. Shortly after, she began her teaching career at Bay City Junior High, where she met the love of her life, Charles Ray Peveto. In a whirlwind romance, they married on May 12, 1964, just five months after meeting in January of that year.

Linda was known for her vibrant personality and her towering presence, both physically and spiritually. She had a gift for making every room she entered brighter with her humor, warmth, and deep love for those around her. A devout Christian, Linda's faith in Jesus guided her every step. Her dedication to serving the Lord was evident in her active involvement in her church and her boundless generosity, often providing shelter to those in need.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Charles Ray Peveto; her sons, Daniel Peveto and his wife, Sarah and Matt Peveto and his wife, Dori and as well as her cherished grandchildren, Jane, Jack, Kate, Perri, and Preston. She is also survived by her younger sister, Carline, and her surrogate son, Jed Rollins, whom she loved as her own.

Linda is now reunited in heaven with her parents, Carl Rivers Smith and Allene Dolores Smith; her older sister, Ima Lee Mann; her beloved nephew, Cary Duane Moore, who passed away within the same hour on the same date five years ago, and dear friend, Judy Hogan.

Linda's remarkable life will be remembered by all who were touched by her kindness, strength, and, most importantly, her enduring faith and love of Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1st, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and the funeral service will follow on Saturday, November 2nd, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Both will take place at Klein Funeral Home (Cy-Fair Northwest) located at 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX 77065.
