Louis Stolz Obituary

LOUIS RENE' STOLZ was born January 23, 1913 in Wegscheid, Germany and died September 23, 2005 as a victim of an explosion during the evacuation of nursing home residents during Hurricane Rita. Louis lived in Racine, Wisconsin until 1949, when he moved to Bellaire, Texas where he worked at GAF as Personnel Manager until retiring in 1978. He touched the lives of so many volunteering at M.D. Anderson Hospital, CCSC, Faith Lutheran Church, as well as being a member of Kiwanis Club and Chamber of Commerce. Also he was honored with the title of Mr. Bellaire and the Mayor's Award for Outstanding Service to the community. Louis is survived by his beloved wife, of 67 years, Violet Hensley Stolz; daughter, Suzanne Rene' Girouard; son, Robert Louis Stolz and wife Patricia of Orlando, Florida. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Laura Kramer and husband Chuck, Jennifer Eley, Stephen Girouard and wife Becki, Linne' Girouard, Richard Girouard and wife Marlene, David Bracewell, Ann Bracewell, and Joy Richard. He was adored by his 18 great grandchildren. His sisters-in-law, Verne Hensley and Eunice Klema, as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. A "Celebration of the Life of Louis Stolz" will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 4600 Bellaire Boulevard, Bellaire. Following the service there will be a gathering of family and friends in the Faith Center. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial gifts to Faith Lutheran Church or CCSC, Box 27924, Houston, Texas 77227. The pain in our hearts will be tempered by the peace he now knows and the knowledge that he has gone on to help prepare a place for his loved ones.
