I often wonder what Maid would be like today: fully grown, tender, always reaching upward, giving, fruitful.
It saddens me that she was taken so early from us!

Over spring break i took my grandkids to Disneyworld. They used to be playmates of Maid. They loved all things Disney! My grandkids are now young adults and still love Disney. I think Maid would too. You are sorely missed, dear child!!

It's been years since I last saw her and I can't believe she's really gone. But, on the up-side, she'll forever live in our memories and hearts with all the joy she filled our lives with.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. She was a wonderful person with such cultivating stories. Though she was as American as apple pie, I believe her family tree shows that her roots go back to England with Newton. She had such strong core values. I hope her spirit lives on forever.

I never had the chance to meet Maid, but the many stories I have heard and the many pictures I have seen reflect her sweet personality. She has inspired me in many ways and has impacted my life beyond measure.

My condolences go out to Maid's parents Tom and Collin, as well as her grand-children Tosha and Syder.
I never had the chance of making her acquaintance, although I know she was truly a gift from God. Her father (my friend Tom Britton) and I have been friends for more than 18 years. For her birthday, I had bought her a Macintosh, but unfortunately Miss Maid passed too soon.
She will be missed, but her legacy lives on ...

Maid was a sweet one. I'm sorry to hear of her passing. Her two fathers loved her so much they never forgot her when their work called for travel. I think Maine might have been her favorite place that she visited. She loved the lighthouses, as did her father Tom. She always had something sweet to give to somebody. In times of need she never thought of herself, always somebody else. Some might say, "One Maid a day, keeps the doctor away." We love and miss maid with all of our hearts. My condolenses to her family. I'll always be here if you need a shoulder to cry on. It must be hard living and traveling without her. I hope the pain might fade. The best to all of you.
Always,
Candice

We miss Maid1 Her carefree lifestyle, romantic view of life and solid body made her perfect. We lived vicariously through her and now must face a life without her travels to inspire us. My hope and heart goes out to her lovingly close family. May she forever be remembered for the juice of life she provided.

I only met Maid once. I was about to leave for Ireland and she had just returned from there (she loved to travel). She showed me pictures and told me of all the fun she had had there. One of my favorite pictures is of her in front of Bono's house. She was a hugh U2 fan.
Even though I didn't really know Maid, I do know that, given time, we would have been great friends. She has touched my life and for that I am truly thankful.

I never had the opportunity to meet Maid but my life has been deeply touched through all the stories I have been so priviledged to hear. She endured much as she traveled the world in cramped circumstances yet never uttered a word of complaint. She is indeed a heroine of sorts as she lived life to the fullest, even in times of sickness. You could always count on Maid for smile. Her positive attitude shines forth in her pictures. She will be deeply missed. Tasha....you have some mighty big shoes to fill. God bless.

Maid was always full of life, you might say she was a saucy gal, but hey that was her style. Her love and compassion will continue to bear fruit for generations to come. She was a great example of courage, she never became soured by lifes hardships or difficulties. Some people would say that there is a bad apple in every bunch, but not Maid, no, she was the eternal optimist always looking for the good in everyone. Maid may your bright shiny example last through the ages.

Fortunately, I met little Maid. He came to Puerto Rico and we were together a couple of hours. She was very lovable. Maid, no one will forget you. Maid, te robaste el corazón de todos los que tuvimos la alegría de conocerte. Dondequiera que estés, que estés muy bien. Love,Brendaliz

The minute Maid came into my life I knew she was special. She was very patriotic, American as apple pie. She planted the seeds of love in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Maid's way of seeing outside the box and embracing the flow of everyday life should be inspiration to us all. Her sweet personality caught by the camera all over the world lead others to enjoy traveling to the fullest. Her contagious smile will forever live in the memory of all who meet her. Maid you will truely be missed.

Maid was very high spirited. She enjoyed coming to visit here in the Las Vegas area. She especially loved all the bright lights on the Las Vegas Strip. She will be missed by my kids, my wife and myself.

In following Maid Appleton's travels and experiences through her "grandparents", I have vicariously shared her sweet, short life. Her untimely disappearance has been a loss to many of us who enjoyed hearing about her. She will be missed.

Maid's life was such an unusual one that I hope someone will write down a complete story of her short life along with pictures to share as encouragement and inspiration for those, like me, who never had a chance to meet her, but heard about her zest for life. How wonderful that such a tiny one brought immense delight and pleasure and became the apple of everyone's eye that knew her. It is heartwarming to hear how she was cared for and provided for in order to extend her life beyond anything normal and even after her body became only the shell of her former self.

Maid Appleton will truly be missed. Thankfully she saw much of the world and truly enjoyed her life. Knowing I was able to be a part of her life for three years brings joy to my own life. I know her sisters Syder and Tosha will continue the wonderful legacy Maid left behind.
