Margaret Friedmann Memoriam

Margaret (Peggy) Hager Friedmann
02/27/1949 - 07/03/2025
Margaret (Peggy) Hager Friedmann, aged 76, passed away peacefully in her home on July 3rd,
2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She graduated from Hartsville High School in 1967, where she was honored as a member of the
National Honor Society. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1971 and a Master of
Arts degree in 1976 from the University of South Carolina, laying the foundation for her lifelong
passion for education.
While teaching in Daytona Beach, Florida, Peggy met and married the love of her life, Chris
Friedmann, in November 1979. Together, they settled in Louisiana, where they raised their three
children and became deeply involved in their local Baptist community and church.
A passionate educator, Peggy taught high school English in Honea Path, South Carolina,
Daytona Beach, Florida, and New Orleans, Louisiana. She also shared her love of literature as an
undergraduate English instructor at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Above all,
Peggy found her greatest joy in homeschooling her three children-Karen, Jonathan, and
Eric-through the eighth grade.
Peggy's legacy lives on through her beloved children: Karen Chenoweth and her husband James,
Jonathan Friedmann and his wife Magen, and Eric Friedmann and his wife Kristina. She was a
devoted grandmother to her eleven grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2 at 1:00PM at Bayou City Fellowship, 12715 Telge Road, Cypress, Texas 77429.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask for donations to be sent in Peggy's name to the
Convoy of Hope: https://convoyofhope.org.
