Judith A. (Mackey) (McNiff) Friedmann, age 74, of Dracut, formerly of Lake Helen Florida, passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on Friday, September 12, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of Paul L. Friedmann with whom she shared 25 years of marriage, love, and adventures.
Born in Chelsea on August 31, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. Mackey and the late Rita C. (Silck) Mackey. Judy was raised in Tewksbury and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School. Following graduation, she attended Wheelock College in Boston.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as an office manager at Andover Ear, Nose, and Throat Center for 18 years. There, she established a strong rapport with patients, physicians, and staff and was known for her care, compassion and sense of humor that brightened every day.
Judy was a creative and talented crafter who held an artistic eye for details. She helped family, friends, and coworkers plan countless parties and events. Whether coming up with the perfect color scheme and theme, or writing and performing a custom skit, she gave life to every party and event she was a part of. Her joy was infectious.
An adventurous spirit who loved feeling the warmth of the sun, Judy enjoyed traveling and cruising throughout the United States and Caribbean. During her time in Florida, she enjoyed frequent visits to New Smyrna Beach where she loved to walk through the dunes and afterwards enjoy a drink or two with friends. Locally, Cape Cod and Maine were two of her favorite destinations. She enjoyed summer vacations in Bridgeport, walking the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, and most recently relished the picturesque views of Acadia and Nantucket.
Judy lived life to the fullest and took genuine delight in the joys and successes of others. She loved her family and friends fiercely and nothing made her happier than to see them laughing and smiling and enjoying each other's company. She attended countless school and sporting events for the children of her family and friends and was always everyone's biggest cheerleader.
In addition to her husband, family members include her beloved sons whom she was immensely proud of: Andrew J. McNiff and his wife Coreen, and the late Michael T. McNiff. She leaves two grandchildren Blythe Rosselli and Fallon Vigeant, and three brothers: Ronald Mackey and his wife Suzanne, Richard Mackey and his wife Lynette, and the late Joseph M. (Skip) Mackey. Also surviving Judy is her best friend and soul sister, Blondie Rowe and her husband Kevin, as well as uncle, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
At Judy's request, services will be held privately.
