One of the greatest Blues Voices of all time. I remember her from the late 60's and 70's and in the late 80's, walked into a club, heard a familiar voice and was thrilled to see Martha again. Thoughts and Prayers for the family.

I remember being at Geno’s here in Houston and saying to a lady "Have you ever heard of Martha Turner, she’s singing here tonight, I just love her music, wish I could meet and sing with her one day". Next thing I knew they called Martha Turner to the stage and the lady next to me got up. She took the mic and said to me. "Pick up your jaw baby and come up here and sing with me". That was quite an experience. My prayers are with the family. She will truly be missed.

I'm sorry to find out about Martha's passing. She was a real talent. I remember going to some of Houston's night clubs in the late 60's and early 70's to listen to Martha. They just don't have night clubs like that anymore. That was truly the good old days.

Sorry to hear Martha passed away. I played drums for Martha Turner & Wayne Lyles for many years. I worked many Houston Area nite clubs with her, worked with her in Miami at the Castaway hotel, recorded with her in Nashville and played Rodger Miller's King of the road hotel. Martha was one of a kind.
