Mary Belinoski Obituary

Mary Ann Belinoski, born on April 5, 1940, died on October 10, 2013. She was a native Houstonian and a lifetime member of St. Theresa Catholic Church at Memorial Park. She was the valedictorian of the 1958 graduating class of Incarnate Word Academy and a magna cum laude graduate from the University of St. Thomas in 1963.
Mary Ann was put on this earth to be a care giver as evidenced by her life's path. During her high school and college years, she worked as a nurse's aide at St. Joseph and Memorial Baptist Hospitals. After completing her BA degree in education, she taught fourth and fifth grades at Blessed Sacrament, St. Ambrose and St. Cecilia Catholic Schools. Upon her retirement from teaching, Mary Ann worked for Gulf Oil Company and then Chevron Oil Company. When she retired from the business world, she was the loving and dedicated care giver to her mother for 28 years. During this time, she also provided help to other people in her neighborhood and members of her church. She accepted her role of care giver with dedication to and love for the patients she took care of, the children she taught and the elderly and less fortunate people she helped in the community.
Mary Ann was predeceased by her parents, William E. (Bill) Belinoski and Geneva (Sicinski) Belinoski, and her infant brother, William E. Belinoski, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy J. Belinoski, and numerous relatives and friends.
Special thanks are extended to Mary Ann's cousin, Kelvin Ross, who helped her over the last several years as she struggled with COPD and who was a regular visitor during her stay at The Forum at Memorial Woods and to all friends who brought a lot of joy to her during their many visits. Special thanks are also extended to the 3rd floor staff and care givers of the Skilled Nursing Facility at The Forum as well as the nurses and care givers from Hospice Compassus for the loving care given to Mary Ann over the last 18 months and especially during her transition to her new life with her Heavenly Father.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 pm with a rosary at 7 pm at Earthman Hunters Creek on October 16, 2013, 8303 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas 77024 and a Mass of Christian Burial on October 17, 2013, at 10 am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell, Houston, TX 77007 followed by interment at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in the Garden of Gethsemani.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice or, as requested by Mary Ann, perform a random act of kindness in memory of her.

Hi Dot: My thoughts and prayers are with you. My memories are the recent visits with Mary Ann and yourself at the Forum. Laughing and enjoying the day and each others friendship. To see the peaceful frame of mind she was in, still so sharp and humorous during her illness. This showed what character she had, a great example. I will remember that about her.

Dear Dorothy, I did not know Mary Ann's family but I did know Mary Ann since high school at IWA. I had known her from the days of my youth. I found Mary Ann to be bright, polite, and friendly person. You have my deepest sympathy. The Best way to remember someone who's passed away is to carry on the wishes, aspirations, dreams and heart consciousness of that person. They live forever in your mind, spirit and inspirational actions when you magnify the power of LOVE and make the world a better place.

Dorothy, I know how long Mary Ann has suffered and I know that she is finally at rest. You have been such a blessing to her and now she has gone on to a place where she can look after you. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and I think with fondness on our conversations that always left me thinking that Mary Ann was blessed with an earthly angel.
