Mary Lymberry Obituary

Mary Lymberry
April 11, 1925 - July 2, 2022
Mary Gabriel Lymberry, beloved Mom, Aunt Mae, Thea Mary and YiaYia, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 2, 2022 at the age of 93. She was born to Christ A Gabriel and Theodora Christou Gabriel in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 11, 1925.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack of 50 years, her parents and sisters Nina, husband, Peter Casten of New Orleans and Chrysanthe, husband, Richard Stern of Joliet, Illinois.

Mary was a long-standing member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, as well as an active member of the Daughters of Penelope, Achaia Chapter 54. She held numerous positions for many years and was involved with the developing an apartment project in Houston, the Penelope 54 Apartments which is comprised of 67 units.

One of her greatest joys was to cook and bake. Mary welcomed one and all into her home. She loved all sorts of word games, crossword puzzles, and especially Wheel of Fortune. Mary loved her Houston Astros. She knew the lineup better than most people half her age. Mary was an elegant and sophisticated woman who was also sharp and quick witted up to her last breath. She was one of a kind that will never be forgotten.

Mary is survived by her son, Kimon (Linda); daughter, Christina and husband Patrick McIntyre; grandchildren Lauren and Ryan McIntyre, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews and even a great, great nephew.

We will all miss her. May her memory be eternal.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, July 13 from 9am - 10am, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Blvd with the funeral beginning at 10am. Graveside service will follow.
