Matthew Garrett "Matt" Doyle, 46, of Houston, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2025. Born on February 24, 1979, in Fort Worth, Matt lived a life filled with curiosity, humor, and heart. Known for his big smile and quick wit, he brought warmth and laughter to everyone who knew him.
Matt attended St. Anne Catholic School in Houston and graduated from St. Pius X High School. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of St. Thomas. He built a meaningful career in financial planning, where he found great purpose in helping his clients prepare for retirement and enjoyed forming strong and lasting relationships.
A lover of live music, Matt could often be found following his favorite bands-especially Yonder Mountain String Band and String Cheese Incident-on tour. He also appreciated good comedy and never missed a chance to see a comedian perform. Matt loved to entertain, whether by grilling or hosting a crawfish boil for friends. He was frequently the life of the party.
One of Matt's favorite places was the Comal River. He treasured time spent in New Braunfels with his children, Garrett and Addison, floating the river and making memories together. Matt counted his children among his greatest blessings. He especially loved listening to Addison play the piano and bonding with Garrett over Marvel and Star Wars movies.
Matt is survived by his children, Addison and Garrett; their mother, Teresa Doyle; his father, Peter Doyle; his sister, Patricia Dennis, and her husband Patrick; nieces Payton and Parker; and nephew Pearce. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Patricia "Poppy" Linbeck Doyle.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 12:00 pm, at Bradshaw-Carter Funeral Home, 1734 West Alabama Street, Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Matt's honor to the National MS Society.
