Max Roesch Obituary

Max Eugene Roesch (51) passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2012. He was born October 1, 1961, in Houston, Texas, and grew up in Leander, Texas where he graduated from Leander High School. Max attended college at Southwest Texas State University where he earned his B.B.A., Marketing. He married the love of his life, Kim (Moore) Roesch in July 1985. Max earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1988, and has practiced law in Giddings since 1992. Max had many passions, first and foremost, his family, his friends, and his clients. Max was a highly respected attorney and loved his legal practice. Each day he looked forward to helping someone in the community with their troubles. He served as Editor for the Texas Board of Legal Specialization from 2000 - 2011 and also with the Texas Board of Law Examiners 2002 - 2012. As a member of the First United Methodist Church, he loved his church family and participated in the choir when he could. A story-teller extraordinaire, wit was never lost on Max. His tales of arrow-head hunting, bird hunting, and even canoeing always brought laughter to those who shared in his experiences. A true history buff with a heart as big as Texas, Max never missed a chance to visit the Alamo in San Antonio, to read or teach about Texas History or to read one more book about Teddy Roosevelt. Max was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Max and Clarice Roesch, Gene and Jeanie Caylor, his Uncle Ken Caylor and his dear friend, Pat Holloway. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Kim and children Victoria C. Roesch and Zane C. Roesch, of Giddings; Brother Chad Roesch and his wife Jenna of Pflugerville; Aunt Linda Caylor and Cousin Amy Caylor of Lago Vista. The family would like to invite you to attend visitation on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 5pm-7pm at the First United Methodist Church, 279 Monroe Street, Giddings; and a Celebration of Life Services, at 3pm, Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the Alan Roberts Family Gymnasium, 2216 CR 226, Giddings. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society in Max's honor.

I had the pleasure of attending high school with Max. He was so very charismatic, and touched my life with laughter. Though we lost touch after graduation, I often heard through mutual friends and business associates of what an outstanding person the young man I knew became; a wonderful husband and father as well as a respected leader in the community. My thoughts and prayers are with family and friends.

Kim, Victoria and Zane, I was stunned to hear of Max's passing--pausing to think of the cases we shared as well as stories of others Max gave his clients his absolute loyalty and effort and every bit is his formidable skill. He was, as lawyers say of the respected colleague, " a lawyer's lawyer" May you cherish and find comfort in the times you shared and in His promise. He had overcome so much. He is at peace. Please accept my family's deepest sympathy. Mike Klesel

So sad to learn of his passing. Max was a good friend and advisor to my late husband, Don Kennard, and later to me during a long drawn out, stressful law suit when there was no one else to turn to. He was appreciated more than words can express. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

Great memories of laughing the day away with Max and Warren Harris while we should have been law clerking for Zimmerman and Lavine. I am praying for Max and his whole family.

Kim,Victoria and Zane..... my heart is so heavy for your loss of Max, your daddy -- Kim, your best friend. He loved you guys so much and he always shared such wonderful stories about his family. Max will forever and ever be a remembered and cherished friend of mine. I loved working with him because he'd always either have me laughing at some point in the day -- usually multiple times! -- or shocked with awe because of some of his tales! Truly, one of my most favored clients, and I considered him a friend, also. Heaven's received a colorful character, but he will be so missed here. Praying God's comfort surrounds you during this time.
