Michael Bruce Kashar, born February 23, 1942, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 26th after a three year battle with Alzheimers. Mike was a professional insurance and financial adviser for 50 years in the city of Houston and was currently associated with Mass Mutual Insurance Company, meeting the insurance needs within the medical community. Throughout his career, Mike rose to become a giant in his industry. He worked tirelessly to accommodate his clients and was awarded numerous honors. He was the consummate professional and always went the extra mile for a client in need. He worked 14-hour days to make sure his wife, children and grandchildren had every possible opportunity and advantage. He loved working and had been known to work two phones at once. Mike cared deeply about honesty and professional ethics. Mike was active in the Houston Jewish community and was on the board at Congregation Beth Yeshurun. He is survived by his wife Linda of 53 years, daughter Elisa Akrongold (Bruce), son Gary (Alexis), son Mark (Jennifer), and his 9 beloved grandchildren, Leah, Ava, Benjamin, Sam, Isaac, Raizy, Jacob, Noah and Daniel. He is also survived by his brother Larry Kashar (Barbara). Mike is predeceased by his loving parents Sam and Ethel Kashar, and his sister Rumiel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 28th at 10:30am, at Congregation Beth Yeshurun. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation in memory of Mike to Beth Yeshurun or Hadassah.
