Michael Lusk Obituary
01/15/1951 - 02/21/2025
Michael "Papa" Alan Lusk, born on January 15, 1951 in Houston's downtown Memorial Hospital, passed from this life on February 21, 2025. He worked for the Houston Chronicle for 47 years. Michael embodied so many wonderful and unique qualities. Michael never met a stranger, never missed an opportunity for those around him to feel loved, and most importantly, never missed an opportunity to share God's word. He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Martha Nell Lusk; daughter, Marcy Rene' Fowler and husband Greg; daughter, Dory Michelle Short and husband Will; son, Christopher Michael Lusk; daughter, Rebekah Joy Lusk-Tillman and husband Billy. Also, 9 exceptional grandchildren to live on to carry a message of love as his legacy. Stacy Rene' Fowler and fiancé Bailey, Madison Lee Fowler, Daniel Scott Fowler, David Gregory Fowler, Mia Michelle Short, Brayden Michael Lusk, Kevin Le'Roy Campbell III, Jayce Elijah Campbell, Zachariah James Tillman; sister, Margaret Sharon Davis; sister-in-law, Joni Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his earthly father, Chester Henry Lusk Sr.; mother, Eunice Rosa Lusk; brother, Chester Henry Lusk, Jr.; sister, Beatrice Lusk Smith; brother-in-law, James Leroy Davis; and niece, Jacquelyn Monique Sallas.
His celebration of life will be held at Sugar Creek Baptist Church's Chapel located at 13213 Southwest Freeway Sugar Land, Texas 77478 on March 7th, 2025 at 11 AM.

I met Michael through many years of working with Martha. I knew their family and they always made me feel welcomed. Michael was always so kind and a smile on his face as I delivered envelopes for Martha. He loved his family and friends! He will be greatly missed. I love seeing Martha and Michael togethersuch a beautiful couple! So very sorry for your loss. God has gained an angel to look over your family!

Mike Lusk and I were in the same home room from our first day at Furr Jr.-Sr. High School in September 1963 until our last in May 1969, and we became friends during those six years. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I'm sad to see him leave, but tickled that he is finally in the arms of his Lord and Savior! It was such a privilege to be part of his chiropractic health care and I considered him to be one of my friends as well. My assistant, Emma, and I will never forget him. Such a deep Christian who lived out his faith and spread the Good Word eagerly. We will continue to keep you, Martha, in our prayers.
