Nancy went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Nancy was born in Houston, TX on October 1, 1936 to Arthur Louis Wellman and Frieda Mae Fullerton, both deceased. Nancy was also preceded in death by her brother Art "Sonny" Wellman, two sisters Dorothy Helton and Jean Daugherty, three nephews, Billy Helton, Russell Wellman, and Harold Dean "Bubba" Daugherty. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Haynie Wayne Copeland, sons Michael Wayne Copeland and wife Sherry, David Ray Copeland Sr. and wife Kim, grandsons, Spencer, Cameron, David Jr., and Chris. She is also survived by nieces Betty Galbraith, Carol Roberts, Terry Davis, and Tina Rayburn; nephews Kenneth Helton, Robert Helton, Richard Helton, Ronald Wellman, Randy Wellman, and Daryl Copeland
Services will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, April 4th at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 18081 West Road, Houston, TX 77095. Burial to follow at Forest Park Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077. Visitation will be held 7pm – 9pm, Friday, April 3rd at Brookside Funeral Home, 9149 Hwy 6 North, Houston, TX 77095.

Thinking of and praying for you guys, Wayne, Micheal, David, as well as her loved ones today. May you all be comforted by God's love and mercy. My good neighbor friend's, I'm sorry I could not make it but I've been sick with a stomach virus for the past 2 days. Nancy was a very sweet hearted lady. I have many good memories of her watching out for us kids growing up, her fixing us up with sandwiches, snacks, etc. and putting up with us playing, fighting, cranking up music, motorcycles, and hot rods! Cherish the good memories.

Our condolences and prayers go out to the Family and Friends of Nancy. I remember her warmly as a PHS'54 classmate. We admired her athletic competitiveness at PHS. She was always friendly and engaging during the high school years we shared. We are saddened by her death recently. R.I.P.

I looked up and admired Aunt Nancy from childhood until now. Remembering when Aunt Nancy would tell me the story when I was young that I went to visit her & Uncle Wayne and I would be her side step right by her side "clinging on". She will always be very close in my heart. Uncle Wayne, Michael & David and family hold on to the precious memories. May God give you peace.
