Nancy DeLorenzo Memoriam

Nancy DeLorenzo
08/05/1941 - 11/26/2023
Nancy Culbertson DeLorenzo, age 82, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023. Nancy was born on August 5, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas. Nancy was a devoted Christian, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend.
Nancy was an honor student at Lamar High School and at the University of Texas where she graduated in 1962. In 1963, she married her high school sweetheart, Joe DeLorenzo. She raised her beloved sons, Paul and Jason, with tender love, tenacity and discipline which helped to make them the fine men they are today. Nancy was a strong advocate for her children and grandchildren and never missed a sporting event. She was a faithful church member at Houston's First Baptist Church where she and Joe enjoyed teaching preschool children on Sundays. A fierce competitor, Nancy enjoyed playing tennis. Nancy founded Necessities, a small company which provided specially designed tee shirts and accessories to schools and businesses. Through determination and hard work, the company thrived. "Honey", as she was fondly known by her grandchildren, enjoyed many family dinners and watching the University of Texas football games. Family meant everything to Nancy. Her dear friends in the bunco group gave her joy, fun and fellowship.
Nancy is survived by her husband of sixty years, Joe DeLorenzo; son, Paul DeLorenzo, and wife, Kim, and their children, Joseph and Emily; son, Jason DeLorenzo, and his wife, Sharon, and their children Sophia, Jack, Grant and Paige. She will also be missed by her sister, Betsy Martin, and her husband Bill, sister-in-law Mary Lee, sister-in-law Elizabeth Dale and her husband, Jim, and brother-in-law, Ken DeLorenzo, and his wife, Katherine, and a host of nieces and nephews. They mourn her passing but are comforted because they know that she is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Maxine Culbertson, her sister, Jackie Thompson and her sister-in-law, Christine Wylie, as well as her mother and father-in-law Joseph and Eda DeLorenzo.
Nancy never complained about her health issues and her Christian faith never faltered. She was an inspiration to her family and friends and will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to thank her devoted caregivers Duni and Yetunde as well as her doctors, Dr. Tommy Pham and Dr. Anthony Gunawan for their support during the past eight years.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances and memorials for Nancy DeLorenzo may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 50 Briar Hollow Lane, Houston, Texas 77027 or cff.org.
A memorial service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held on at the Houston's First Baptist Church Chapel, on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 10am. The chapel is located immediately to the left when entering the main foyer. There will be a reception following the service at the church. My sweet Nancy, to talk of one person have ever met on earth with a golden heart ,that was Nancy.I was the first and her only caregiver for about 5years until later that I had to follow my nursing career and became RN.The most important was having in contact with my sweet Nancy, confirmed my Christianity life.I just got converted from Muslim religion to Christianity .However, when I came in contact with Nancy confirmed my relationship with Christ is the best thing that can ever happen to any one. We had a lot of discussions about Christ, went to church together ,had bible study together.Christianity is not just quoting bible or doing miracle but a way of life.Nancy was a Christ representative on earth, she demonstrated a good Christian with all her ways of life.I am blessed and so honored to be part of Nancy `s family..My sweet Nancy is now with Jesus where we have eternal life, free of challenges of life.May my sweet Nancy `s soul rest peace.Amen...Yetunde Konrad

Nancy, you were a Proverbs 31 woman, anyone who knew you knew that. Together you and Joe built a marriage and a family. Your legacy shines brightly in your two sons, their wives and six grandchildren. It was an honor and a privilege to be your friend and to see how you and Joe both modeled overcoming adversity. In a little while we too will be with the Father, until then, you sleep with the saints. Thank you for such good memories.
