Nancy Miller
03/09/1953 - 10/03/2025
Nancy Jean Lanier Miller passed peacefully to Heaven on October 3, 2025, at the age of 72. She was born on March 9, 1953, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Those who met Nancy saw the bright light she was. She told every person, animal, and even insect she encountered they were a beautiful gift from God, and she truly meant it. Although she knew evil existed in the world, she chose to see the beauty and the light. Nancy was an artist and a poet. Animals brought her immense joy. Her love for animals extended to her own cats, her family's pets, and even her neighbors' pets, whom she cherished dearly. She knew she would see them all again, playing peacefully together, in Heaven someday.
Nancy had no children of her own, but loved her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews dearly. Every child should be so lucky to know what it is like for an Aunt to take utter joy and delight just being around them. Her eldest nephew once said, "Every child needs an Aunt Nancy."
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Rick, her sister Linda Ansell, sister-in-law Lynne Lanier, sister-in-law Dana Baker and brother-in-law, Ron Baker; her nephews and nieces and their spouses and partners: Steve, Kate (Carl), Elizabeth (Rob), Amy (David), Charles (Coleton), Barrett (Reghdah), Tim, Melissa (Spencer), and Sarah (Christina). She also leaves behind numerous cousins, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and extended family. Nancy was preceded in death by her brother Tom Lanier, her parents Melva and Sidney Lanier, her brother-in-law Rick Ansell, and her mother-in-law Adele Miller.
Nancy was a giver in every sense of the word. She gave love, time, food bank donations, and compliments freely. She always contributed a little extra for the Humane Society. Her generosity and kindness were boundless. We ask that you carry on her passion for generosity in remembrance of Nancy.
