Patricia Doggett Obituary

Patricia Ann Overholt Doggett 75, born May 14, 1938 to Ralph and Irene Overholt of Morristown, TN passed away April 15, 2014. She was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Willis. Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Marshall Wellington Doggett III of Houston; daughter Alice Andresen, son-in-law Rik, their children Annalies and Christopher of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter Ann Lyons, son-in-law Scott, their children, Taylor, Cody, Clayton and Corey of Muldoon, TX; sister, Susan Perry of Knoxville, TN; brother Ralph Overholt Jr. and wife Libby, of Morristown, TN; and nieces and a nephew.
Friends and family knew her as Pat and will remember her outgoing personality and love of learning. She enjoyed reading newspapers, shopping antique and post card shows and estate sales, attending DAR meetings (Samuel Sorrell Chapter), UTHRO field trips, and travelling to Montreat, NC and eastern Tennessee to visit family.
After attending East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN Pat moved to Houston and was employed 37 years with UT MD Anderson Hospital and UT Dental Branch. She was a Lifetime Gold Badge member from her time with the HLS&R Rodeo Express Committee. Other memberships included: DAR, Alpha Delta Pi Alumni, Houston Chapter; UTHRO; UTDB Alumni; & Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. She volunteered for American Cancer Research, Easter Seals, March of Dimes and MD Anderson Children's Art Project.
Her family thanks friends, family and neighbors for their much appreciated support.
A memorial service is to be held at 2:00pm on Friday, May 9th in the chapel of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests donations in Mrs. Patricia Doggett's memory be made to the Swannanoa Valley Museum, How You Can Help, Honor Others (e-donation) or Swannanoa Valley Museum, PO Box 306, Black Mountain, NC 28711 or Montreat Conference Center, PO Box 696, Montreat, NC 28757.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Pat's passing. She was such a smart and kindhearted person. May you take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sad to learn that Pat has passed away. We were co-workers at UT-Dental Branch and she has been very nice, warm, and very helpful to me and to just about everyone at the Dental Brach. May she rest in peace in heaven.
