Patrick Bridges Obituary

Patrick Bridges
10/02/1971 - 02/19/2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Carlisle Bridges, a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many people. He joined his mother (Patricia Ruth Webb Bridges) in heaven Feb.19, 2025.

Patrick was born on Oct. 2, 1971 in Houston, Texas and by the grace of God, he was adopted by Jerry & Patricia Bridges 10 days later. He was proud to be their son, and later he became the proud big brother to his adopted sisters Kelli Elizabeth, and Elizabeth Suzanne. He thanked God nightly for the family and friends God had blessed him with. Patrick knew in his heart that he could not have a better childhood, family, grandparents, or friends. Patrick Carlisle looked up to Jerry, his father and friend, as the man he strove to become. Patrick was thankful he was able to spend the last years growing closer to his family and spending extended time with both his parents.

He graduated from Memorial High School, class of 1990, and then took the road less traveled. He soaked up knowledge like a sponge, becoming an expert in the audio/video fields, scuba diving, and having a "blast" running his firearms businesses. He also reached Vice-President standing with several construction and steel corporations. His dream was to open a scuba diving and tour boat business one day. He and a dear friend and fellow dive enthusiast made the dream a reality on Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Adventure Tours was born, and has been in business for over 5 years.

Patrick Carlisle's passing will leave a huge hole in all of our lives. His friends and family will never be the same, now that they are without him. He is survived by his wife Melissa April Williams, his father Jerry Guinn, sisters Kelli Elizabeth Woodruff (Michael Woodruff and daughter Sophie), and Elizabeth Suzanne Bridges. He will be missed by his close friends Jason Prentice, Vladimir Hernandez, Kay Carlisle, Jason Carlisle, and Justin Carlisle, among many other friends and family both in Houston and Isla Mujeres, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ruth Webb Bridges.

We will be honoring his memory on Saturday, March 29, at 1:00pm at Chapelwood UMC, 11140 Greenbay Street, Houston, TX 77024. The family will be receiving visitors at the church immediately following the service. Patrick's wish is to have his ashes spread in Isla Mujeres, Mexico.

One of the most beautiful days I shared with Patrick was about ten years ago, when we were looking for a shipwreck northeast of Isla Mujeres-a wreck few people even knew about back then. We had a rough location, but nothing was certain. The captain started searching, and once we thought we had found it, the current was incredibly strong-pulling hard in open, unfamiliar water.

We needed to anchor the boat, or we´d be swept away. Without hesitation, Patrick stood at the edge of the boat, smiling, holding the anchor between his legs, wrapping his arms around it like it was a friend-and then he simply let himself fall into the sea. Just like that.

I couldn´t believe what I was seeing.

After that day, I never saw Patrick the same way again. He was fearless. He was joy. He was the best diver I´ve ever known. And the best friend. I miss him so much.

To Melissa-
Thank you for being by his side. For loving him so deeply, for caring for him when he needed it most, and for giving him peace in the hardest moments. I know he left this world feeling loved, and that is because of you.

To his family-
Even though we never met, I want you to know how grateful I am for the man you gave this world. He was my brother in this life, and I will carry his spirit with me always.

With love,
Vlad

I´m so sorry for your loss. I am praying for you all. Please know that your loved one is safe in God´s memory (Proverbs 14:14,15). Just as he brought his son Jesus back to life, he will do the same for your loved one. May God give you comfort and strength to help you cope during this difficult time.
