Patsy Ray Evans Lane

Patsy Lane Obituary

PATSY RAY EVANS LANE died peacefully at her home in Sugar Creek with her family by her side at 10:25 a.m. on October 25, 2007. Patsy was born in Farmersville, Texas on June 6, 1930. Patsy loved the Lord and lived life with a grateful attitude! She was very involved in her church as a mentor to young married women and a devoted Sunday School teacher. Patsy enjoyed the friendship of the Sib Fowler Circle. She was named "Outstanding Mentor" by the First United Methodist Church "Celebration" women's group. Her love for Jeannette Clift George and the A.D. Players was the highlight of her Christian life. She was in Jeanette's first Bible Study and enjoyed taking her daughters and grandchildren to the A.D. Theater. As a dear friend described Patsy's talent for decorating, "She had a sense of beauty and knew how to create it". She was President and owner of her own company, Restore Inc. and served as Executive V. P. for Special Situations. Her family will miss her amazing cooking, especially her "angel" biscuits and gravy and homemade soups. One of her proudest accomplishments was the day she soloed in the family's plane. She is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Harlan Lane of 62 years. Also, she is survived by her sister, Barbara O'Dell and husband, Rex; her four children, Harlan M. Lane, Jr. and wife, Londie, Kay Lane Slack-Beard and husband, Barry, Paula Lane Pervais and husband, Craig, Laura Lane Atherton and husband, Murl; 9 grandchildren, John Randall Hatfield, Jr. and wife, Stacy, Jayson Lane Hatfield, Aimee Lane Luther and husband, Monroe, Harlan M. Lane, III and wife, Cynthia, Travis Lane, Molly Sapp, Brittany Pervais, Jenny Pervais and London Raye Lane (namesake) and 5 great grandchildren and twin nieces. The family would like to thank Jennifer Washam for her weekly visits and the delicious meals and to Patsy's caretakers, Dorothy and Rose. Also, to Molly and Bill Stringer and Nancy Klingler for their Christian love and support during Patsy's illness. Her children and grandchildren are truly grateful to their father for his kindness and loving care of their mother. The memorial service will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 29th of October, in the chapel of The Settegast Kopf Co. at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway in Sugar Land, with Rev. Kip Gilts officiating. Immediately following the service, all invited to join the family for a reception in the adjacent Windsor Essex Room. In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions in memory of Mrs. Lane may be directed to A. D. Players, 2710 West Alabama St., Houston, TX, 77098; or to the Department of Neurology, Baylor College of Medicine, 6501 Fannin St., NB302, Houston, TX, 77030.
