Paul Basinski Obituary

Paul M. Basinski
1954-2018
Paul M. Basinski, noted geologist, geophysicist and entrepreneur died on April 4, 2018 at age 64 of complications from a cardiac transplant. Paul was the founder and CEO of Burgundy Xploration which was working in conjunction with its joint venture partner 88 Energy to develop "Project Icewine" on the North Slope in Alaska.

Paul is survived by his wife René and three brothers, John, (Philadelphia, PA) and Tom and Phil (Buffalo, NY). Paul and René were enthusiastic supporters of the Houston Symphony and an upcoming concert by the Symphony will be dedicated in Paul's name. A private memorial is planned.

I am very sorry about the death of Paul. We worked on the Dakota Sandstone of the San Juan Basin, NM & CO off and on for years while he was in New Mexico. He was a very good geologist & a great guy!
