Peter Neisig Obituary

Neisig
Peter Andrew, III, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, lost his courageous eight-year fight with Parkinson's disease, but fortunately, his life did not end in a blur of drugs for pain nor an extended hospital stay. He went home peacefully in his sleep to be with his Savior on October 21, 2011.
Pete was born June 3, 1935 in Houston, Texas to Vera and Andy Neisig. He was a longtime member of Pines Presbyterian Church where he served as Treasurer/Trustee and Head Usher. He was also a member of Exxon Mobil Retiree Club-Houston West, Hearthstone Country Club and Cen-Tex Grasshopper Golfing Club.
He grew up in Houston and remained friends with classmates from grade school, high school and college. Pete was a proud member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 1957 where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. Upon graduation, he worked at Dresser Industries from 1958 - 1965 in the purchasing department. He went on to become the Procurement Manager for Texas Instruments in Houston and Dallas. He retired in 1994 after 29 years of service.
He led an active life, full of dirt bike riding, waterskiing, antiquing, snow skiing, fishing, traveling, camping and boating. During his retirement, Pete enjoyed time with his family, gardening, golfing, travel and, of course, his love for Blue Bell Ice Cream.
Pete is survived by Becky, his loving wife of 48 years; son Mark Neisig and his children Emily and Andrew Neisig; daughter Becky Roth and husband Danny and their children Rebecca Maddoux and husband Blake, Rachel Croy and husband Matt and their children Conner and Bryan, and Samantha Roth; daughter Linda Cole and husband Peter and their children Carter Cole and wife Jodi and his son Seth; and Mitchell Cole. Also surviving him are brothers Russell Neisig and wife Sarah; Don Neisig and wife Burke; extended family and close friends. His parents preceded Pete in death.
Friends are invited to visit the family on Monday, October 24, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Road, Houston, TX 77065. A Memorial service celebrating Pete's life will be Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 10:00 am at Pines Presbyterian Church, 12751 Kimberley, Houston, TX 77024, The Rev. Dr. Wayne Eberly officiating.

Becky, and family. My heart goes out to you. Pete was a friend and colleague for many years at TI. We had a lot of fun on the dirt bikes too. Pete was one of the real nice guys at TI in Houston.

Sincerely,

Bob Carlson
