Dear Donald, family and friends of Phyl,

Phyl shared with me her love of books and I feel very privileged having known her. Our friendship was conducted via the internet. I was always on the lookout for her warm and witty emails. If even I, who's life she touched on only lightly, am missing her, I can't begin to imagine how great your loss is. My heartfelt condolences to all of you. I fervently hope you can find comfort with each other, as I know from Phyl that you are a close-knit group. Faith, of course, will be a support as well.
Take care,

Sue Edwards

Phyllis and Don have been my neighbors for amost 20 years. I spent many stops along the dog walks visiting with her through the window...life at Woodway Square will not be the same without my chats with Phyllis. I was honored to know her dear mother and have her as a neighbor for several years. We shared a love of books, dogs, cats and of course family and friends. She had a heart of gold I shall miss her. See you on the other side dear friend. Love Vickie, Ebbie and Mama Cat

Dear Donald, Alex, Billy, Alexandra, Phyllis was one of the most compassionate, giving people I know. I have so many memories of her visits to St. Francisville to visit my cousin Mary Anne Barrow Stephens who introduced us, trips to her parents' home in Houston, riding the train back and forth, and trips to Florida in the summer with Aunt El. We kept in contact over the years, and we had our last conversation on Saturday before she died. Always brave, upbeat, and you could hear the smile as she talked. She was so gracious and her love was truly from the heart. I'll miss her, but knowing she is waiting for all of us, is such comfort. My prayers are with all of you. Anne Barrow Klein

Phyllis and I met many years ago through a mutual love of audiobooks. Over the years we grew increasingly close and it was my privilege to call her my best friend. I looked forward to chatting with her every evening. Phyl gave of herself with her whole heart and regardless of how ill she may have been, never failed to demonstrate empathy for the problems of others. My deepest condolences to Donald, her beloved husband who cared for Phyl so unselfishly, and to her family who she loved greatly. I will miss you with all my heart my dear dear friend.
