Mere words cannot express my gratitude for the blessings I received in my friendship with Ralph. I met Ralph, as he and Dee were volunteering at MD Anderson. He went the extra mile to serve and comfort those of us who were facing a battle of a lifetime. He was always an encourager and shared the hope of a true believer. I have fond memories of meeting the Landrums to visit when I came to Houston for checkups. He was the most interesting and intelligent man to carry a conversation with. Yes, he was one of the great men of the greatest generation. I am proud to have called him friend. I look forward to seeing him again when we are all home with our Lord.
My prayers are with you, Dee.

Dad was a man among men. He did what other men only thought about doing. Its good he is in heaven because this world was just too small for him. He can now watch over every one he cared for all at the same time, particularly my Mom, Dolores, the light of his eyes. I will miss him and hope to be with him someday.

As a cousin, my memories of Ralph are of a wonderful wit, great intelligence, and an adoring wife in Dolores. He will be greatly missed but leaves so much of himself in his children, his work with others, and his inspiration of turning adversity into the opportunity to give back even more.

Ralph truly embodied the best of America's Greatest Generation. His zest for life, selfless graciousness and unrelenting thirst for wisdom are unequalled. He simply will be irreplaceable. The many fond memories he and Dolores have shared with me of their adventures seem only to have scratched the surface. I will enjoy Ralph's filling in the details when we "catch up" in heaven.

Friends and members of Providence Church in Corpus Christi were happy to have known Mr. Landrum from his many visits here. He was a very respected gentleman. May blessings be with his family.

Oh how I will miss Ralph's wonderful friendship, intelligence, compassion, and humor. Ralph, Dee, and several others of us have spent many hours together the last few years in support of MD Anderson patients and families. He has left us a truly remarkable legacy of caring that will continue in the decades to come. I am truly blessed to have had Ralph Landrum in my life.

Ralph was always upbeat, humorous, a friend to those less fortunate, a loving devoted husband and best friend for 57 years to Dolores. We remember him being a special friend and supporter to our mother, Bonnie Farmer. We rejoice in his life with Dolores, Warren, Mark, and Francie, and all his family. We thank our Lord for the grace given Ralph in departing this life and for the assurance that He gives us that we will meet Ralph again in the home God has prepared for us.
With love,
Bonnie Hays Farmer
