Randall Smith Obituary

Randall C Smith
1959-2022
In his 63rd year Randy Smith passed away after a protracted illness at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center ICU of pneumonia March 3, 2022. He was supported by his wife, brother, and friend as he passed. Randy was born September 22, 1959, in Texas City, TX to Wilbur and Patsy (Johnson) Smith.
Randy graduated from Clear Creek High School class of 1978 in League City, TX. He was a dedicated football player throughout his high school career. Following his graduation Randy continued to pursue a career as a mechanic that started when he worked in the school bus barn for the Clear Creek Independent School District in high school. After several years with Waukesha-Pearce Industries in Houston, TX he moved to working offshore. He retired from Devon Industries in 2009.
Randy met his wife Sharon in 2002. Their love bloomed as Randy introduced Sharon to his greatest passion, scuba diving. They were married in 2008 in North Las Vegas, NV. They enjoyed a life of passion and laughter and the joy of their pets.
Randy's love of scuba diving also led to his long-time ownership and participation in his business Sport Divers of Houston with partner Mike Stanley. He relinquished his ownership in recent years due to his disabilities.
Randy is survived by his beloved wife Sharon (Wissell) Smith, his sister Annita McGinness (David) and brothers Michael Smith (Linda) and Kevin Smith (Kimberly). He is loved and remembered by many
nieces, nephews, and friends.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 7, 2022, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 2535 E. Broadway St., Pearland, TX. Randy will be cremated at a later date. If desired, gifts in Randy's memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
